Today the President met with the outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair and took part in a joint press availability with him at the White House.
He also attended a commissioning ceremony for Joint Reserve Officer Training Corps and made a statement on immigration reform.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice attended a reception at the British Embassy in Washington on the peace process in Northern Ireland.

It is very sad indeed. However I myself intend to stay on FR, I will stand up to anyone who wants us to surrender in the war on terror and calls our President a traitor.
HERE HERE...DITTOES! BRAVO@! I stay away from the stupidity also....I’ve learned so much here, however, that I’m too addicted to leave. I’m sorry to hear others are choosing not to be a part of FR.....but, times/priorities do change. FR is kind of like a NEIGHBORHOOD....where people move in and out....some we can get along with, some we cannot (believe me....if I could only tell you the stories of our new condo neighborhood!)

We must stand up and fight for any person who advocate surrender and defeat in the war on terror and to everyone who call President Bush a traitor as some are openly saying and spamming one thread after another uttering these horrible things in the last few weeks.
We will fight on, please stay with us.
But the Dose is part of Free Republic, and Free Republic has allowed things that I cannot condone. It is out of control in a way that it has not been in the six years I have been here.
I am not abandoning anyone, and frankly, I don't appreciate being accused of that.
You know I am not a quitter, and I'm certainly not giving up on support of the President, but this is not the only place it can be done.
There are good people who are no longer permitted to post on this thread because they have been banned from FR because they aren't monolithic thinkers. Free speech is being curtailed by threats of further bannings. Good people have left because they can't take it any more.
When the Pray for President Bush was invaded tonight (one of my two refuges), I decided to go with my husband's advice and stop posting.

Free Republic is not the only place in which to support the President. The Dose is a complete aberration from the rest of the forum. I have fought hard and I am not giving up. Just recognizing that the "Impeach Bush" crowd is running rampant here and solid, pro-life conservatives like me have no place anywhere outside the Dose and a handful of other threads.
You do what makes you feel good.
We all make choices.
I'm sure your hubby just doesn't want you to feel badly anymore, and I too, would say, stop.
You have a hero for a son, concentrate on him and your life at home.

Amen. The so called “ultra conservatives” are calling our President a “Traitor”, some on this great forum, it breaks my heart.
You have fought MANY battles here, OWF.....taking time out is understood.........I have not fought the battles you have here on FR - mostly I read some of the stuff, and ignore a lot of it right now - I have chosen to wait until closer to the election to get into the frays about candidates where many battles are now being waged. So, I guess you could say I’m not yet as battle weary as you are. Keep in touch. We will miss you.
