Levin is complaining that he can’t get anyone on Capitol Hill to get a copy of the immigration bill. He is wondering what all is actually in it — but it isn’t available.
[The one last session had several measures added just before it was voted on. One provision included making it mandatory to consult with the Mexican government on all border issues.]
We need to see a copy of the bill and find out what is in it. It is supposedly 1000 pages.
Expert guest on Levin is saying that the bill did not follow the normal committee route.
Instead, it was done secretly, and will go to a vote in the overall Senate.
Only bits and pieces of the bill are being released at this time.
Expert on Levin says that groups like La Raza had actual veto power over contents of the bill.

I’m listening to Hewitt. What’s Savage going on about today? Let me guess:
1. Talking about his last meal
2. Talking about Teddy and his latest cute act
3. Talking about his childhood in New York
Hewitt is a moderate on immigration and he is calling this a total disaster. Mark Steyn was also speaking about the dire consequences to the country and the Republican party. He said if he had to do it over again, he wouldn’t have gone the legal route to become an immigrant to this country. I imagine Savage’s head has exploded by now.
Hewitt said Romney has come out blasting this bill. Hewitt and another caller surmised that McCain knows he’s not going to get the nomination so this is his last way to screw us and the country.
