The constitution was not intended to be a suicide pact or an excuse to be the world’s patsies. Did their status as founders stop Jefferson, Adams, Madison, and Monroe from projecting US military power in our national interests?
Paul supports the troops. What he (and the Founders) don’t support is the nation-building & propping up regimes aspect of it.
‘The constitution was not intended to be a suicide pact or an excuse to be the worlds patsies.’
Bingo.
The fact the terrorists want to erase the Constitution we have seems to escape this kook Congresscritter.
As I wrote in a previous post:
What annoys me the most about Paul, his people, and people who think like them is that seem to subscribe to some mystical spirituality that protects the nation from its enemies just as long as the government doesn't engage in domestic espionage, "torture," or foreign intervention. [Also, i]t seems like they think that if waterboarding is the only way to save the United States from devastation, then it's not worth saving.
