I'll give credit where credit is due there. Rudy just helped his campaign big time. He chewed the carpet at the exact right time, when the other candidates couldn't be bothered. The guy was damn near foaming at the mouth, and rightly so.

Won't be enough in the long run, of course.

As for the rest, I'll say again that they're all looking much better than last time, except for Brownback. Brownback only seems comfortable when speaking about abortion and other pro-life issues. Good for him, but he needs to extend that conviction to other issues if he wants a chance.

Even Tancredo is looking much more focused than last time, though there are still serious rough edges.

I think Congressman Tancredo is a great man with a lot of great ideas...but right now, the best thing he could do for America would be to hand the ball off to Duncan Hunter and let him carry it. An early endorsement would mean a lot.

Tancredo has a natural tendency to stammer and that will hurt him. He’s a great congressman but I don’t expect to ever see a president Tancredo.

Rooty knocked down Paul on Iraq and the WOT, and rightly so, but it was ruse. Rooty is getting killed on almost every issue. He made a decision to attack someone, and Cong Paul was a good clean target for his rhetorical wrath.

Just as in the first debate, Rooty is looking bad tonight, even with his outburst at Paul.

I think the big losers tonight were Tommy Thompson, Rudy G and of Ron Paul. Everyone else did pretty good.
