No, its the fact he took on the liberal establishments and reformed them and turned the city around, but of course, continuing the discussion is pointless as you are clueless about such things, and have your mind made up and so, rather than bother dealing with your dillusions, please continue to live in them.
Anyone who was in NYC or payed attention to NYC before and during/post Rudy knows better.

No one is claiming that Rudy is a soft on crime liberal. Virtually everyone agrees that he iron fisted the criminals into submission. However, that does not make him a conservative.
I am truly hard pressed to come up with a list of conservative positions that Rudy holds on more than maybe 2 or 3 things, vs. 1000 non-conservative positions on things.
Maybe you can set me straight.

That’s funny, there are several NY Freepers that lived in Rudy’s NYC that still think he’s a flaming liberal.

I am a native Manhattanite. I was in New York City before and after Rudy. I payed great attention to what he did.
- I was paying attention when Rudy forced out Police Commissioner Bratton (the real force behind declining crime) when Bratton started getting too much recognition.
- I was paying attention when Rudy sued two dozen gun compaies, blaming them for New York crime.
- I was paying attention when he put the Emergency Command Center in a known terrorist target, against the advice of his advisor. (I was also paying attention when he recently lied about it, claiming that the advisor told him to put it there.)
- I was paying attention when he made a spectacle of himself, carrying on a very public affair and announcing his separation at a press conference before telling his wife.
- I was paying attention when he declared New York a sanctuary city for illigal immigrants.
- I was paying attention when he had the MTA pull bus ads that made a very gentle joke at his expense.
- I was paying attention when he pushed his mobbed-up pal for Secretary of Homeland Security.
Rudy's real record in Gotham is one of intimidation and heavy-handed authority, with a whole lot of taking credit for the work of others. Which you would know if you had been paying attention.
