Laurie: You are mostly right in this sub-discussion. In my experience here since ‘98 or so, FR has never spewed as much “glee” or “hatred” of Demodog politicians at their death or serious illness as is seen at DUh on a regular basis.

Look at the reaction of FReepers and moderator’s reactions to Paul Wellstone’s death - who I consider quite similarly a political opponent as the DUheads would Falwell. Some poste were deleted, but by far the bulk of FReepers were very kind about Wellstone:

There is no way that people here were any where near as venomous as DUh is routinely - and many FReepers were saying as I said (somewhere) about Wellstone that day (couldn’t find my comment: must have been another similar thread that day): ‘God bless him... disagreed with him politically about EVERYTHING, but respect him for his honest defense of liberalism’.

But back to the point of this thread:
