The war on terror in the Afghanistan theater is going to be almost over within six months. The Taliban have been badly destroyed in the last four months, and the death of their top military commander two days ago is another huge blow for them.
From what I’ve read most Afghans have turned against them.
Don't you beleive it. It may go down to a slow simmer; due to so many of the die hards getting knocked off. There are always going to be bone-heads that are willing to step up and fill thier shoes. The "War On Terror" is, and always will be an on-going war, with no end-point in sight. As long a islam exists, there will always be a threat; by the very nature of islam, it will never be "almost over". That doesn't mean that we can't beat the barbarians back, so that the threat is managable.
