“Can you please provide scriptural reference for this statement?”

The LDS belief in the preexistence is largely drawn from modern revelation, though there are supporting verses found in the Bible.

For resources explaining the source of this, go here:

If you would like a more in-depth exposition of how we come to this belief, try this (PDF):

Quote GODS LIGHT IS IN EVERY MAN!Not just in me . If a Mormon is beside a road and dying would you help him > I know one thing I would. I don’t think God is going to condemn me for saying that we are all created equal and in his image. Did it ever occur to you that if we respected the Mormon Faith maybe they would drop the things that separate us. The one thing that does bind us you must admit is our love and respect for our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Don’t think of them as evil just think of them as lost sheep out in the wilderness who Jesus the good shepherd is calling back.I think Jesus would agree with me.

I don’t like Mormonism, but I like Mitt. He is not running for a religious position, but for president of a secular government.

Don't you question the wisdom of a man who misses the mark so widely on the most important issue in his life? How well will he judge less important issues like the WOT, SCOTUS, etc?

The whole discussion is laughable. Did Clinton’s evangelical Baptist beliefs control what he did in the Oval Office? Why should Romney be anymore controlled by his beliefs?

All I've seen so far are reasons why individuals wouldn't vote for Romney. I'm still waiting for someone to explain what horrible thing they think would happen to the nation if the President was LDS, and I'm wondering if they can even articulate it.

I just feel that the faith he has chosen is the faith out in the wilderness that Jesus is calling to.But I don’t hate the man because that is the way he worships God. Maybe it is a cult , i admitted I know nothing about what they are taught so I must study this faith. He seems to be a good man. Rudy has more dust on the dresser then this man does. I would not mind if he was the VP nominee.

But, yes, Jesus and Lucifer are both spiritual children of God, just like you and I.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

According to most New Testament scholars, the Greek term translated "begotten" in John 3:16 was improperly translated. The correct translation should have been "only Son" or "unique Son." For example, in the NIV the verse reads:

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

Note the FUTURE TENSE of the passage.

I Agree and while called to point out when someone is preaching a doctrine which is contrary to Christianity it would never stop me for voting for a Mormon, a Jew, or a Muslim if I believed they were the right person for the job.

Two words

Pro-Choice

and its very convenient that when he is no longer running in a liberal state he is suddenly pro-life, that leads me to two more words

Vegas,

Jesus called people vipers and snakes.

So don’t you DARE get on your high horse and assert his messages was one of peace, and that he wanted us all to share milk and cookies as we all just got along in harmony and ignored eachother’s differences.

No, in fact, he said he came “not to bring peace, but the sword.”

Yes, Jesus is love. But, his message is controversial, it is one that people hate, and it causes great conflict and division.

And, as a Christian, I am to spread that message. Sometimes it will ruffle feathers, like yours, when I say you are following a false prophet and a man of Satan.

But, it is the truth. That doesn’t mean I don’t care for you. I am harsh because I DO.

I’m sick of Hewitt’s pimping Romney. He’s gone overboard.

In his pimping he fired on Tancredo; it was terrible. At first I didn’t mind it; but as I relistened to his selective repeats I got tired of his angle. He WANTED Tancredo to look bad. Hewitt’s favoring of Romney is now seen by me as a promotion of his book. He admits he shamelessly plugs his book.....

Hugh has a good show. But when he favors somebody he camps out the outskirts of a conservative “Countdown” show.

I am not saying this to offend you but true faith in God has very little to do with feelings. Jesus himself warned us in the gospels that many false prophets and false Christs would come after him and not to be taken in by them. Paul warned belivers about trusting in our flesh and feelings are part of it so do not trust it.

Remember the Bible says that false prophets come as wolves in sheep’s clothing, so do not get taken in by all the trappings but do a proper theological discernment. You should study Mormonism on the link I gave you to the Ankerberg Theological Institute. It has been proven to be a cult by Orthodox Christian theologians across all spectrums. There are many more articles there to study.

Grrrrrrr...let's try this again. Here's what I just posted:

You've given me a reason why YOU wouldn't vote for Romney. Can you or can't you articulate a fear that you have about having a Mormon President?

So far, you haven't.

Betsy, Scripture says God hates some people.

Therefore, obviously, we are not all his children.

“We believe that, prior to the creation of the Earth, you, me, Jesus, Lucifer, we were all spirits with God. God proposed a plan whereby we could be tested in this life to see if we would follow Him by faith.”

Even if everything else claimed about Mormonism is false, that is enough blasphemy right there because it makes salvation by works, not grace.

“If a Mormon is beside a road and dying would you help him “

The answer from most true Christians would be an emphatic, yes.

Yeah, it was about 25% accurate, too.
