You’ve basically nailed it, Vet. I think it boils down to this: Asian — and, I would add, Latin American — women generally haven’t been spoiled by feminism or by the more cynical aspects of American culture. Among other things, American culture has a lot of aggressiveness and a lot of overstated individualism — a need to prove oneself. American women have always had more of this toughness than women in other cultures, including macho cultures. Faced with non-American, or not-typically-American, choices in recent years due to the breakdown of racial taboos, white men very often go for Asians and Latinas. Both love being woman and acting like women. Asian ladies, at least, also tend to be rather slender and are rarely awkward in their body language. Both Asian and Latin women are more likely than white women to have even features and attractive skin.

In this new world of interracial dating, the winners are Hispanics, blacks, and whites among men, and Asians, Hispanics, and whites among women. Black women and Asian men are screwed in terms of quality partners — unless they really have a lot going for them, or are lucky enough to be in love with what others would find to be a low-quality partner.

All in all, the breakdown of racial taboos in dating helps the best-looking, those with charisma or great social skills, and those with money. It doesn’t necessarily do much for the rest of us. All in all, the old “racist” rules may have been more fair in this respect. You don’t create equality by elminating racism. You just shift inequality into new channels. Racism is wrong, but anti-racism doesn’t always create optimal outcomes either.

Great post. I've met many quality caucasian women, but something about Latina women made them especially attractive. Your post summarized a lot of my own thoughts perfectly. My wife is like a "Latina Donna Reed" and amazes me on a daily basis. It's the devotion to faith, marriage and love that are so profound it's an inspiration for me every day.

That and she, to me, is HOT!

12 years and two children later and what I look forward to most is the time we spend together.

I could speculate about why I didn't find someone raised in this country, but suffice to say I have my own personal demands and I'm not easy to live with. There are plenty of good and decent conservative American women, they are just tough to find, I suspect. Plenty on this board for those still searching...

Anyways, since I was a kid in school I've enjoyed dating Latinas. Love the culture, too. The languages and cultural differences were exciting, always kept my mind working to learn and understand. At the same time, they were doing the same thing acclimating to American society. It was easy to bond quickly.

I think I ended up being slightly biased towards them due to my dating experiences with American women who had been raised as "princesses" moreso than "Ladies". As soon as I got my degree I moved to SoFlo and ran amuck, knee deep in Latinas. Now I get my wish every day.

Joke making the rounds in the Cuban American community a few years back:

Cuban mother in Miami having a heart to heart talk with her daughter and son, both in their 20's.

"My son, I want you to marry a nice Cuban girl so you can tell her what to do."

"My daughter, I want you to marry a nice boy who is at least a third-generation American so you can tell him what to do."

With the wimpification of the American male, someone has to be the 'guy' in the relationship...
