I veto your post with my pen.
The Mormon church loves all races. All are welcome. All are equal. Priesthood ordination for blacks prior to 1978,and the timing of this in that year, is something I can’t really understand completely myself, but I don’t understand all things about the universe either.
Plural marriage was present in old testament times, and in the early years of the church. It’s the exception, not the rule in terms of marriage, but it has been authorized by God at times for his purposes. But obeying the law of the land was the first priority, that’s why this practice needed to be discontinued (and yes, like anything else, there are some how abuse principles of all kinds, and some Mormongs did this).
No need for Mormons to be overly apologetic about past practices. As a religious history in the US, it's kind of compressed, so that everything that happened to every other religion took place in the LDS in an amazingly short historical span of time.
Churches adapt around a set of core principles. The Mormons are an American Church, so they adapt fast, and get on with the good work.
Toughen, up Mitt. Nobody's bitchin'to Rudy about the Inquisition, are they?
Can you show me in the Old Testement where it was 'authorized'?
Is this accurate?
This Morman bash-fest is clearly being instigated.
