Mitt Romney against 'Big Love'[troubled by Mormonism's polygamous past]

Mitt Romney is said to be troubled by Mormonism's polygamous past.

No mentions however about that whole black people being directly descended from Cain thing.

Brigham Young, the 2nd Prophet of the Mormon sect said: "You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable, sad, low in their habits, wild, and seemingly without the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so."

Former Governor of Massachusetts and Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney speaks at the Republican's Abraham Lincoln Unity Dinner, 14 April, 2007, in Des Moines, Iowa. Ten republican presidential candidates spoke to more than 1,000 supporters at the dinner.

Wear yourself out misquoting and slandering the hope of many. I need to stop reading the bash-the-mormon bile on these threads — it’s pointless. I had no idea there was such a poisoned hatred towards the LDS. I prefer to be in the company of meekness, kindness and love. Bye.

Acts 9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Hmm... this sounds like

Revelations 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own cblood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

New and Everlasting convenant (brought on by the Atonement of Jesus Christ) according to Revelations is still in effect.

Revelations 5: 8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the bprayers of saints.
9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Oh My!

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth awitness with our spirit, that we are the cchildren of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Not again!

I know I am asking questions about the thinking from a long, long time ago. I will assume it was at first for survival on several levels.

If somebody tried that with today's women, there would be a noisy multiple homicide started by one of the women.

Um, the Rev 1:6 verse reads as follows, not as you posted it with the 'his next to father, but that was a nice try: Young's Literal Translation
1:6 and did make us kings and priests to his God and Father, to him is the glory and the power to the ages of the ages! Amen

Phillipians 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each besteem other better than themselves.
4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a aservant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, awork out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

What????

Jesus on the topic. It is very interesting that this is the cause for his crucification and it the cause for mockery today.

John 10:33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

“kings and priests to his God and Father”

Literal translation is awesome! It fits our beliefs perfectly!

Why do Mormonism Apologists continually leave out verse 13 in the Philipians passage? Because it cancels the misuse they try to make of the passage, to defend works, their works, as needed for their salvation. Here's the full passage, once again:

King James Version
2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
2:13 for God it is who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

You are so disingenuous waving this “apostate flag” omitting that it was answer from God to a young boy prayer.

This is what the Church feels about others of a different faith.

From President Gordon B Hinckley:
Q. How should members of the church respond to efforts of some other religious groups to convert them to other beliefs and religions?

A. Well, I say this: We don’t downgrade any religion. We recognize the good they all do. I say to those of other faiths: ‘You bring all the good that you have and let us see if we can add to it.’ Now that’s our attitude reduced to a very short statement, and it works.

I love verse 13 equally as well! It is all a by the gift and power of God. Of course God rewards us, but ultimately our efforts are driven by God and our shortcomings are made up by God.

I love these scriptures!

Interestingly, there were at least 16 Missus Smiths (in addition to the original) prior to the revelation of the everlasting covenant, according to http://www.wivesofjosephsmith.org/. Two were a full ten years earlier!

Hmm!
