Though the media would have us believe that public opinion is running strongly against our efforts in Iraq, the truth is that the vast majority of the general public is totally disconnected from the fight. They hear that everything is going badly and that the only solution is to quit, give up, hand our enemies a victory.
Yet, as cowardly Republican backbiters slithered over to the White House to ask the president to embrace defeat in Iraq, a video has been circulating on YouTube and around the net called "Remember Me". It was put together by a young lady of 15 years named Lizzie Palmer. Some of you may have seen her interviewed on Fox. The video may be seen at:

I know links to this vid have been posted at least 3 times already on FR, but in the heat of the Rudy wars, many of us missed it. Indeed, the threads on which it was posted only got about 20 posts apiece. I only saw it for the first time last night, thanks to an email I received.
In my opinion, this video is required viewing for all FReepers. It's already gotten 4,000,000 hits on YouTube, and to be quite honest, it needs about 296,000,000 more.
God Bless Lizzie for stepping up to the plate and using her talents to support our soldiers in such a dramatic way. Would that there were 1,000 more just like her. She's done more to help win the war on the homefront--where it is currently being lost--than all the chicken-necked RINOs in Congress put together.
Since 70% of our country is so stupid that it wants to surrender, this country does not deserve the life of one more of our soldiers to protect us. Republicians have no guts to stand up to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Ried, they are making me sick.
Thank you for this.
bump!
It is powerful!
Thank you for the great video..I have a blurry screen now.
Thank you to all who serve our country and to the families who support them.
Thats some powerful stuff.
I hate the mall, haven’t been in many years, no plans for the future.
I received this in Email some time ago - its well worth watching.
Most Americans are disconnected from the war - unless they have a close friend of relative whos deployed. The War is a segment on the news. The War is a subject of political gamesmanship. It isnt real to them.

Actually, judging from Wall Street yesterday, it seems the rising price of oil is beginning to affect the mall. Still this country engages in gotcha politics while the national imperative of energy independence remains a pipe dream. A pox on all in Washington. I’m mad as hell at the lot of em. None of em would pass muster on “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.”
PS - You’ve got FReepmail.

Thanks for the ping!
If I was a billionaire, I’d put that picture on billboards in every city in the country.

I used to think that those efforts were strictly for funding WWII also. But, in doing some research I learned that the primary reason was to suck up cash that would have fueled an extremely high rate of inflation. There was an extreme shortage of goods because of the war in an environment where EVERYONE was working and earning good money. Mucho money and limited goods equals inflation, hence the bonds to soak up the cash. However, since the Greatest Generation were patriotic Americans who were very eager to INVEST IN VICTORY instead of today's defeatists, they just went with the "Invest in Victory" angle when pushing the program. Today the Federal Reserve is responsible for managing inflation.
