A half-dozen cities might follow New York's lead and conduct their own undercover sting operations to disrupt illegal gun sales, a senior mayoral aide disclosed yesterday.
"There are a number of cities that want to emulate what we've done," John Feinblatt, Mayor Bloomberg's criminal justice coordinator, said at a breakfast sponsored by Ladies Home Journal.
Twelve of 27 out-of-state gun dealers agreed to have their operations monitored after private investigators hired by the city bought weapons in their shops last year under circumstances that apparently violated federal law.
The city is suing the dealers who won't cooperate.

Yup. And BATF agents should arrest the tricksters who made the illegal purchases on Bloomies behalf. They were out of their jurisdiction, and therefore have no standing as LEO. Even if that were not the case, however, they would still be in violation of federal law.
I’d love to see a countersuit. That would get Bloomie’s panties more in a twist than they already are (and his voice would probably be a few octaves higher, and more nasal, than it already is).
I have never seen a uniformed officer stop anyone at any time let alone arrest anyone. I have been going to Market Hall and Big Town for years and have never seen it at either location.
