Well then, if what you are saying is true, the Republicans are screwed in 2008. A conservative like Thompson or Hunter won’t win because they won’t get the independent vote. A more moderate like Rudy or McCaon won’t win cause they won’t motivate the Conservative base.

Don’t bother trying to put across a rational thought about this election. Everyone is waiting for the elusive candidate Fred or Duncan's their man. Fred's a good guy but I don’t think he’s running and Duncan is a great guy too, but he can’t win. I too will vote for Rudy if he can beat the dems in 08. My #1 issue is national security and I can’t trust dems to get job done.
