It sounds like he would have had to pay if alive because he was the parent. He donated in a way that was certainly not anonymous, and he was active in the kids lives to an extent. Also, it doesn’t appear the biological mother’s “partner” adopted the children. Ultimately he was the dad, and he should have responsibility to them. Unfortunately, they will probably have to did into the survivor’s benefits.
This is the problem with the destruction of the family. Sperm banks ensure that homosexuals and single moms can have kids. Also, that is the problem with having children outside of wedlock. I feel bad for the kids.
On a side note, I’m not surprised the lesbian couple broke up. Most seem to say they need marriage because they want to spend the rest of their lives with their partners. Then, it seems they break up anyway a couple years down the line or less.
