Do you think Madeline Dimlight would pay $250 for a Chia Pet Bear?

8000 yen is about $70.00 US. I guess that is cheaper than a hotel?

"...The new Japanese generation doesn't have any money, and many young people don't have any motivation. I don't have money, but I have a dream," he says, sitting in a cubicle with a PC and a stack of comic books.
So what is his dream?
"I don't know."

And he shall be called Takeshi WAYNE Yamashita

I don’t read the manga, but I can FReep, drink free coffee, buy cheap snacks.

Are there any 24 hr., meat-on-a-stick places nearby? When we visited friends in Tokyo, the first time I saw one of those 24 hr. places, I thought it was a Dunkin Donuts, because of the horizontal pink stripes on the building. When we walked by one once, I realized it is a 24 hr. takee outee place! They have teriyaki chicken on sticks, and all kinds of noodle dishes and soups. Not very expensive, either; it's a great place to pick up a quick lunch, or I imagine, supper if you've missed the basement food stores in Shinjuku, and after you've gotten off the train and are walking home.

Japan 70%s forest cover ? I don’t think so . Mountains ? Yes.

Many of the mountains ARE covered with forests! We took the train south and west out of Tokyo to go to Hakone, and there were lots of big hills and valleys just covered with trees.

I think you are talking about “Origin” its a takeout bento place. Yeah, they’re all over the place. One down the street from where I live. I get snacks there sometime.

I never even got a chance to go there, but I did go into another take out place in Higase Kitazawa. The friends we were visiting are vegetarians, and after four days, I was craving some meat, so we stopped in I and I got some chicken teriyaki, and chicken livers on a stick. They were yummy!

They make a great egg salad, whole half eggs, mayo, spices... I make a pig of myself and buy 300 grams sometimes.

Fortunately my chloesterol level is normal. Just had it checked last month.

Alas, my uric acid count is up, so no more sausages or red meat for a while.

I just read your profile! My friend and I spent a day in Kichijoji. There were some neat stores with pottery in the covered street market. We had lunch at the conveyor belt sushi place! It was so much fun!
