Remember the pen you sent me with the little red light on it he has had this at the hospital so if he wakes in the night he can see the time on his wrist watch.
It has been such a blessing to him - thank you so much.
:0)
We were so thrilled to watch it in real time

I think the first TV satellite - Telstar - went up in 1961. I was working in a pediatrics ward, and ‘made’ the children watch the first satellite transmission from France, by cutting into their cartoon-watching for a few minutes. The Coronation must have been on film.
Yea! Your Dad is “home tomorrow!”
HUGS!
LOL! My late, lovely, mother in law used to do that, even after she'd had her bath, and was in her housecoat watching TV. I asked her once why she did it, and she said when she smoked, she kept her purse with her because it had her cigarettes and lighter. When she stopped smoking she still did it because she had tissues in it.
We'd gotten so used to seeing it, that when she died, and was laid out for the wake, my older sister mentioned that she didn't look right because she wasn't holding her purse. My s-i-l just howled laughing and said, "You're right!" Then she went and got Granny's purse and put it in the coffin with her. She looked just right, then.
I'm glad you got to do this one :)
Oh my goodness, I LOVE the color of Lynne Cheney’s dress. Her daughter’s is gorgeous, too.
Thank you for that Daisy
Thank you
Thank you. I guess my memory is not accurate. I remember we all gathered at one of our classmates room who had one of the earliest TV sets. And we watched it on the TV screen but you must be right it was on film.
Lovely moving story
No, you didn’t post a link to the guest list. You posted a link to comments about the dinner in which “guest list” was mentioned. I better go back and take another course or two in speed reading.
Snugs, this has been a truly beautiful and interesting Dose. Good luck to you tomorrow on your plans to take your Dad home. I’m sure everything will smooth out for you and your Dad now. And about time.
I saw the unmistakable appearance of welcoming home a loved one on everyone's face when greeting The Queen this week.
I must say, it is very heart warming and comforting that our countries have become so close in recent years.
Thank you very much for such a wonderful dose Snugs!
Thanks for the photos Snugs!!!! Your Queen looks wonderful and the shot of her with our President coming down the stairs is my favorite. Absolutely captivating.
