In my many conversations with people about the threat that radical Islam poses to the British way of life - and, indeed, to European civilization - we frequently end by despairingly agreeing that the West seems intent on committing political and cultural suicide. We look starkly at the demographic statistics, the wimpishness of our Establishment in the face of the threat, the perversions perpetuated by political correctness and our own passivity, it's hard to avoid the conclusion that within a couple of generations, Islam will be in control in Europe. Consider just a few chilling statistics. Europeans are failing to reproduce. Just to keep the population steady, you need to have 2.1 live births per woman. However, in 2005, the European average was 1.38. In Irealand it was 1.9, France 1.89, Germany 1.35 and Italy 1.23. Britain scored near the middle of this range with 1.6, but that was because - like France - we have a large Muslim population with a high birth rate. Indeed, Muslims are outbreeding non-Muslims throughout Europe.
"Just look at the development within Europe," said a triumphant Norwegian imam a few months ago, "where the number of Muslims is expanding like mosquitoes. Every Western woman in the EU is producing an average of 1.4 children. Every Muslim woman in the same countries is producing 3.5 children. Our way of thinking will prove more powerful than yours."
The big question this poses is: Why are we not reproducing? There are many reasons but probably the most important are the decline of religion and the liberation of women. Whereas in the 1970's, I was regarded both in the UK and Ireland as odd for being voluntarily childless, these days, childlessness is a common choice. In Ireland...

Ooooohhhh, aren't you special. So what? Does London make up all of the UK, let alone England? No. Let's see 60 million people in all of the UK (least for now unless the SNP changes things), 8-10 million in London, and 3% of all the UK is Muslim. That means there's not even a majority in the capitol!!
For the life of me (except when I took a wrong turn one time), the last time I was there I don't remember ever seeing a large majority of Muslims. Guess they were hiding huh?
An urban myth. A recent survey estimated that there were 613 mosques in Britain. I can't get a very accurate number of churches but is in the region of 2,845.
No offense, but you may not want to rely on publicly-available CIA info for accurate information on... well... anything.

How many Catholic churches are there in Britain? The orginal comparison that I read was not between the number of mosques and all churches but the number of mosques versus Catholic churches.
Mosquitoes spread disease, squash them. Better yet bring back the DDT.

He only has a point if you completely ignore the facts and rely on guesswork.
More Polish catholic immigrants have been allowed into the UK since 2004 than Muslims have been since 1980. The UK muslim population is growing at 0.02% per annum. America has three times as many muslims in prison as the UK has total prison population. The UK has 1.7m muslims. No-one seems to know for sure how many are in the US - somewhere between 7m and 15m depending on who you ask.
I love the US too, but really, the UK’s muslim problems will look like a blip compared to the US if you don’t get hold of immigration quickly.
Really? If you read the article, it’s clear it’s not the buildings they are counting but actual practicing churches. Also please note the growth of Evangelical churches. So quit trying to scare people with nonsense that just simply is not true. Islam is growing yes. Perhaps when Blair is gone, the PC will be gone and they’ll get a handle on it. But it’s simply not a nation run wild just yet either...
We'll also pool our resources to provide generous quantities of locally-brewed beer for those who find it advantageous, or require it in order to boost the number of eligible partners in the locale.
So Muslims can offend Christians all day long, in fact, anyone can offend a Christian and no big deal. But offending a Muslim is against the law????
