In March, for the first time in the nations history, a federal appeals court struck down a gun control law on Second Amendment grounds. Only a few decades ago, the decision would have been unimaginable.

What is at work when “Liberals” now can make a “Case” for the plain text of the Constitution? Maybe this is a sophisticated way of trying to push themselves in front of the cameras to claim the high ground on the issue.
Or yet again, if libs claim to have discovered this right, then the next step will be to claim the right to tell the rest of us how it should be “regulated”, which is to say Rosie can have armed guards but the great unwashed are still not qualified to protect themselves.
Can I get me a huntin' license here?
Of course, as we all know, “regulated” means “trained”, not restricted or legislated. Which is why troops that mustered and trained regularly were called, well, “regulars”.
And, as we all know, the independent, subordinate clause “A well regulated militia ...” means nothing in the context of The Second Amendment, as the operational clause “The right of The People ...” carries all the weight of that amendment.

And you know that he who controls the meaning of words and phrases controls the debate, or in this case how the government will decide what is legal and what is not.
The Second suffers from Deconstruction, where the words and phrases are taken apart, given new meanings, and then used as the bricks and raw material from which to rebuild a new government power, one in which it grants itself a power that the Constitution already gives it. The words are the same, but the new meaning is the exact reverse.
100% in agreement.
If these guys read the supporting documents (Federalist Papers, etc. ) written by the very same people who wrote The Constitution, as well as the Bill of Rights, this would be a no-brainer.
Unfortunately, we’re left with some SCOTUS justices who would prefer not to look at historical context.
