WASHINGTON | A parody broadcast by radio personality Rush Limbaugh about Sen. Barack Obama’s popularity with many white voters is drawing fire from critics, who say that it’s racist.
The clip, “Barack the Magic Negro,” features a comedian imitating the singing voice of the Rev. Al Sharpton, bemoaning Obama’s popularity with whites who will “vote for him and not for me cause he’s not from da hood.”
Obama’s campaign called the song “dumb,” although a spokesman said that the campaign doesn’t think anyone is taking the song seriously.

The threadbare response by conservatives will be begging for forgiveness and a promise to "watch it" from now on. Though I believe Rush just may be up to the challenge but the rest of the conservatives in the public's eye how about them?
My view is that Imus took himself down. Had he issued a simple, one-time apology to the team on the air, and then told everyone else to "get a life", he would have been ignored.
The fact that he went on the air, endlessly groveling to anyone who would hear his new grovel, did him in. The media smelled blood in the water, and went in for the kill. No blood, no kill.

As long as they spell the name correctly, that is the smart way to go.
The election is 16 months off and Obama now appears to be leading the pack.
Everybody works for somebody. Rush's contract is with Premiere Radio Networks -- I'm not sure if he's an employee, or if he owns his own show and just has a distribution deal with them. And, of course, he and Premiere work for the advertisers.
This isn't going to be anywhere near enough to cause Rush any serious trouble -- it would pretty much take a dead girl, a live boy or a current active Klan membership. That, or a steady and prolonged drop in ratings.
I’m glad the Obama campaign is not taking this seriously.
I wish Obama were a prolife Christian, because then he would get my vote.
He knows when to laugh and when to get serious.
The constant cry of “racism” is like The Boy Who Cried Wolf. It’s uttered every day by the likes of Rev. Al, to the point where no one with any sense pays attention anymore.

Any excuse for the Soros left to try and silence Rush, conservative thought, and free speech. Limbaugh will be a much more difficult target for them than the lib Imus.
