I also think that a lot of the career people that got put into positions of power during the Clinton years were the overtly partisan ones, willing to “kiss Clinton’s ring” and make clear that they’re loyalty was to the Clintonistas and not to the country. From contacts I have who left both organizations in the 90s I know this to be the case in both the CIA and Pentagon.

The Clinton political appointees sought out and rewarded loyal bureaucrats. They stayed loyal to Billary even as career employees after the Clinton’s left office and have been waging a war against the Bush White House from day one.

The shadow government.

It is amazing that even a few employees loyal to the country could have stayed in their jobs and tolerated what the ‘sensitivity training’ Clinton years put them through.

if there ever was an opportunity to see lies in full color, the starting of Fox with Dodd and Wallace is classic.
Someone obviously shook Chris Wallace around (w/o killing him) and opened his eyes to Al Queida in Iraq. As a result, Wallace is hammering Dodd on the FACT AlQueida is killing in Iraq. Dodd just lies and stammers .

I adjusted my tin-foil hat when I read that statement of yours.......I had a flash-back of Vice-President Cheney sitting in front of a Senator committee answering questions when Senator Clinton ask the Vice-President about a report, I believe the report was from the CIA. The Vice-President got a funny look on his face and replied "I haven't seen that report, it hasn't crossed my desk yet!".

I swear got chills when I heard our Vice-President say that. Does anyone else remember when this happened?

That happens in every administration. The political apppointees have a tendency to move those who agree with their positions into top jobs. No wants a naysayer as a deputy.

The Clinton political appointees sought out and rewarded loyal bureaucrats. They stayed loyal to Billary even as career employees after the Clinton’s left office and have been waging a war against the Bush White House from day one. The shadow government.

It works both ways. Bureaucrats support political appointees who go along with their recommendations and ideas. Colin Powell was widely respected and admired at the State Department. He was a career bureaucrat who knew the system and how to operate in it. Condi is having a more difficult time. The State Department employee union, AFSA, has been having a running battle with her over a variety of issues.

So, the career bureaucrats who were "loyal" may just be reflecting their own and/or corporate view of the world that coincided with the Clinton view. There is no doubt that with few exceptions, most of the USG bureacracy is left of center politically. And that won't change anytime soon since they recruit the people into the organization.
