says that Chris Matthews asked one stupid question after another

Matthews has taken one beating after another for his stupid performance. If he had an ounce of ability to assess himself, he would crawl in a hole. He doesn't and he won't. He knows he achieved his real objective, which was to make the Republican candidates look as bad as possible. It's all he cares about.

Bill Kristol bashes the spitter numerous times about his ridiculous questions during the debate and says that Brit will do much better in the next debate (Brit says: here here!). Wallace says something like enough about the spitter.

I thought that Politico reporter would ask - "why President Bush used "Just a $2 pen" to veto the war spending bill.

Don’t you think it would be wise for republicans to avoid these stupid sunday shows & rather appear on Rush, Hannity, Hewitt & Ingraham likes?

Yes, I cannot understand for the life of me the strategy. WHY go hang out with a bunch of avoid political enemies and allow them to spin your message? Frankly someone from the Bush team should be on Rush,Hannity,Ingraham, et al EVERY week. Let the "News media" go to the Talk Show hosts to find out what is going on in the White House. The ONLY time the WH should talk to the Drive Bys is when they are issuing a firm harsh rebuttal of some Democrat Talking point reported as "News" by the failed media.

The Republicans could do themselves a huge favor by simply putting the DBM on the to be shun list. The "News Media" lives and dies on access.

If the Republicans are sick of the bigoted coverage, and they should be given how corrupt the final "news" product is compared to the raw reporting, there is a simple answer. Quit giving the Junk Media the access. The Media is NOT the message, it is merely a parasite industry that FEEDS on the message. Simply quit feeing them

Howie Kurtz had a pretty critical article about the spitter (linked at mediabistro), so I’ll be watching Reliable Sources to see what he has to say about the debate.

Based on the comments I’m reading here about Russert’s behavior, I’ll skip watching fat dim. He makes my blood boil anyway, and it sounds like his bds is getting worse and worse daily. He still hasn’t had to respond to his false affidavit in the Libby case, but....I think its coming soon. I look forward to what team Libby will file in their appeal and hope it will involve the false affidavit filed with the knowledge of the out of control persecutor and the unsound decisions of judge walton.

Rather we said that the CIA's analysts were not giving serious, professional attention to information about ties between Iraq and al Qaeda. The CIA's assessments were incomplete, nonrigorous and shaped around the dubious assumption that secular Iraqi Baathists would be unwilling to cooperate with al Qaeda religious fanatics, even when they shared strategic interests. This assumption was disproved when Baathists and jihadists became allies against us in the post-Saddam insurgency, but before the war it was the foundation of much CIA analysis.

The money quote. As we (well maybe me) pointed out last week there wasn't a damn thing wrong with the raw intelligence data. The problem was with the underlying assumptions made by many of the analysts looking at the data. Bush's take on the intel was steadily being validated by translated Iraqi documents.
Never forget it was the Dems who pushed for shutting down the document website after a trumped up "security breech". Of course Negroponte was more than willing to cooperate with them.

Fred needs to win the nomination before he goes after the “middle”. You aren’t reaching the Republican primary voters going on the Sunday shows. You go to talk radio if you want to reach them.

Thanks for those great nuggets, as always.

The most hilarious one is that the Times will boycott the WHCA Dinner. Like, who cares? In fact, I would bet W would not care if they cancelled all those dinners next year. The poor soul has had to endure three dinners a year for 7 years = 21 . Enough already...

Timmy has now moved on to all the evidence that an attack was coming and how we did nothing.

Tenet says there was no “texture” to the warning. Whatever that means.

Timmy hammering on how the President fully understood the threats. Timmy keeps using the “Did you say to him....” approach, obviously implying that any sane person would have said what he, Timmy, is saying.

Tenet manages to bring up the fact that this straddles two administrations. Tenet jibbers and jabbers another non-answer which I simply cannot follow.

Timmy: should the President have come back from vacation. FGS.
