Bring it on—

But get rid of Olmert the Surrender Monkey first. Bring on Bibi Netanyhu to finish these primatives.

Did Israel ever get their kidnapped soldiers back?

see? these animals don’t want peace, they don’t want to live alongside Israel. When they say they want peace it is a lie. they regroup and look for any excuse to start terror attacks, they get theirs asses handed over by the Israelis.

I have said for years on FR (and even before I came to FR) that Israel has run on a three decade plus reputation, and that this isn’t your grandfather’s Israel anymore.

Of course, their defeat last year was stunning only to folks who haven’t paid attention. They have many problems, and Olmert is only one of them. Their government and culture is riddled with weak links comparable to our own progressives/leftists. I knew that when push came to shove, they wouldn’t have what it takes to crush an enemy convincingly in the modern era.

And Hez called their bluff and Israel’s reputation was undone swiftly.

I think they can find it in themselves to do the job, but likely after a few stunning losses like last year.

I believe a ‘bring it on’ posture will only bring disappointment at this juncture. Just calling it like it is.

It wasn’t a victory, but I wouldn’t call it a defeat. South Lebanon got quite a black eye and somehow I doubt the people there are chomping at the bit for another fight—regardless of Hezbollah posturing.

What it was was a lack of will to win. This is a disease that the whole West suffers from (especially us). Once Israel starts to do something that really hurts Hezbollah, you can count on the French and the other UNs trogs to call for a ceasefire. This only exacerbates the problem by leaving the conflict unresolved. Even we buckled. So much for the vaunted Bush resolve to fight terror. Fighting the GWOT with PC rules of engagement makes the whole thing an ineffective farce.

So much for sending the UN troops to make sure that Hezzies did not rearm themselves and attack Isreal again, and then blame Israel for the deaths of women and children that the hezzies hide behind after starting the fighting! If Israel has learned anything from the last war with the hezzies, it is, you cannot play around, and must kill each and everyone of them, and who cares what the world thinks about the deaths that are sure to come! The world socialist, and UN terrorist supporters do not like Israel anyway, and Isreal has nothing to gain, trying to gain favor with them. Kill every terrorist, and destroy each and every nation arming, supporting, and training these terrorist, and Israel will find out shortly, that terrorist acts will have gone down and may even come to an end for the first time in 45 years!

Something tells me that once they rid themselves of the Big O, they may be ready as well. It will probably look something like this:

Good analysis. But we can only hope that if Israel is attacked they would rise to the occassion. Perhaps the kidnapping of a couple soldiers wasn’t enough to snap them out of their stupor. Hell, an attack on our homeland that killed 3000 barely snapped the US out of its own complacent stupor, and for most that last at best 3 or 4 years. Considerably less for those who are more to the left.

No doubt that with Olmert still in power, Hezbollah can keep making noises.

But is it possible that these threats could actually serve to speed up the removal of Olmert if people will get anxious about Hez attack and repeat performance with Olmert at the helm?

And if it [hopefully] does happen, would you bet on Livni with Kadima almost intact, or Kadima falling apart and Likud getting power and Bibi becoming a PM?

“Yer either with us er aginst us”.

It might have worked out a lot better if we really meant it. Personally, I think it was just rhetoric. We continue to give nominal support to regimes that support terrorism—the PA being the most blatent example.

The biggest problem with Israel is that it doesn’t have or can’t find a REAL leader. The state has suffered from a crippling lack of leadership for decades.
