An exciting two minute race, preceded by 15 minutes of anticipation, and that preceded by 90 minutes of absolute inane scatological humdrum.
Street sense wouldn't have been my pick...too small IMO...guess I'm wrong ...again..sigh.
Wife had Hard Spun... I would have leaned toward NobizLikekShobiz or maybe Great Hunter.
Gonna be an interesting couple of weeks.
One good point for me is that Wife says maybe next year she'd like to go and spend the week. Wonder how many thousands that'll cost...LOL!

This was a great Derby and is a good example of why horse racing is the sport of kings. I am sure Her Majesty had a great time.
Street Sense won the Breeder's Cup Juvenile by 10 lengths and now he's won the Ky Derby.
I thought I had it right up to the last 1/16 th mile.
The camera followed STREET SENSE as he wove his way into contention and started passing horses, then he passed HARD SPUN, then CURLIN, who I knew would be overbet but still ran very well, and my longshot I had put in 4th on a superfecta ticket, SEDGEFIELD, who stayed on the rail for the entire race, still held 4th place as the camera pulled away and followed STREET SENSE. I assumed I had a huge super. Then the announcer said IMAWILDANDCRAZYGUY had gotten fourth. He passed SEDGEFIELD , who finished 5th.
Both “GUY” and “SEDGEFIELD” were huge longshots, last time I looked SEDGE was 56-1. “GUY” was one of two horses I was quite sure could NOT finish in the top 4, and he alsmost didn’t —— My superfecta ticket said 7-8-2-1
and the finish was 7-8-2-11-1——the 7-8-2-11 superfecta paid an amazing $29,000. A $1 ticket on 7-8-2-ALL would have cost $17, and would have netted half the payoff ($14,500 before taxes). Woulda, coulda, shoulda.
then he will get drunk again.......
WOW! That’s great. I remember when my Mom used to wear hats like that to church, back in the 40’s and 50’s.
faima, don’t you like hats?
I bet she had more than one. ;)
I like hats.I don’t like that hat.Give me something large with lots of stuff on it.
I would love to see you in your favorite hat, with lots of stuff on it!
We cajuns have all kind of holidays to use for an excuse to drink:
New Years Day, Christmas Day, Mardi Gras Day, Saturday, Sunday, Monday . . . .
;)When I had the thrift store Geni and I road to her home in used hats on Derby day.Mine was big with lots of stuff on it and a bite out of the side of it.Someone took our picture.
Heeheee.
I had Street Sense in a bunch of exacta boxes, with just about every horse in the race except Hard Spun. I was going to go back and bet him too, but, figured I had too many tickets in my hand already...woulda, coulda, shoulda.
On a side note, I didn't realize Sedgefield and Imawildandcrazy guy came in 5th and 4th. This morning the "experts" said Wildandcrazyguy had "no chance at all". They picked Todd Pletcher's horses- none of them even finished 5th.
it was a great race, what an upset!
Not my style:)
