We were driving home from a vacation late last night and heard about this. Seeing the pictures of those tornados is just frightening! I will pray for all the victims and families who are suffering a loss of a loved one or personal property this morning. I hope the storms stay away today!

There were reports of multiple vortices, but the main vortex itself was extremely wide based on some photos that have surfaced.

Im hearing 7 confirmed deaths, quite a few in critical.
:(

Here is the forecast for today, tornado watch already up for nw of Wichita.

WESTERN KANSAS DOWN INTO WESTERN OKLAHOMA TODAY...ALONG AND EAST OF A DRYLINE. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT. STRONG INSTABILITY AND WIND SHEAR IN THE ATMOSPHERE WILL ALLOW SEVERAL OF THESE STORMS TO BECOME SUPERCELLS. THE MAIN THREATS WILL BE TORNADOES...VERY LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS. A STRONG TORNADO IS POSSIBLE. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT SEVERE WEATHER THREAT AREA WILL BE ALONG AND WEST OF A LINE...FROM LINCOLN TO HUTCHINSON TO

The problem is, this is a town of a little over a 1000.

They have ordered an evac of the town. I don’t know how the town will recover.

Yeah, it was almost cyclonic the way the storm itself was swirling at times.

Though in the countryside, Greennsburg had trees and buildings.... The pictures in daylight are shocking.

The same tornado also hit a few other towns.

Very unusual night last night....normally tornados miss towns or just scrape them. To hit 3 towns was just crazy.

It is believed Greensburg is the one hit the hardest, however. The others are largely being ignored right now as the damage appears less severe.

Prayers for Greensburg. I used to go there daily and have many friends there. I can’t contact anybody except in Dodge and the view is gloomy, may be 3-5 more deaths on top of the already reported 7.

Wow...the devastation in Greensburg is incredible...everything is just flattened.

Y’all think that was an F5? The last F5 we had in this country was the Moore F5 on May 3, 1999...so we are way overdue.
