They weren’t actually asked to raise hands. It was more of a passing “Anybody else here not believe in evolution?” which struck me as simply a piece of bait that Hunter didn’t rise to, but that a couple of others did by raising their hands before Matthews quickly went to his next question.

But it was Hunter who showed who would be the best President of the United States

..good analysis, twigs, but I just can't stand Matthews--especially for the way he treated Michelle Malkin-- Zell Miller got him, though...

..IGTR, I can’t speak for JimRob, but I believe he sticks with positions and principles over personalities—I am positive about one who he is against—the Rudester...

McCain took a little more. He obviously dislikes interruption even more than the average person.

Rudy was the WOT guy, but quite shallow on values (especially in his response to "Is the influence of evangelicals good for the Republican Party?").

Hunter, not McCain, came across as the military guy - beyond even the WOT. He's the only guy talking about the real foreign threat on the horizon: Red China. Was Hunter perceived as too one-dimensional? Regardless, he is talking about the things that matter to our future.

Tancredo was good.

Brownback was good.

Huckabee won a lot of respect from me in pointing out (what should be obvious to anyone except really smart secular scientists and morons) that EVERYONE is driven by a set of core values - not just the Religious Right. There is no such thing as an objective human being.

I admired Dr. Paul's unwavering adherence to the constitution - Matthews even mocked him, taking the Lord's name in vain.

Romney, as expected, was overly polished: too close to the archetypal politician to convey authenticity.

Romney came across like a male Barbie Doll with the pomaded dye job, tan, and canned answers, IMHO.

It seems to me that the only reason that Romney is considered the winner is because he got the vast majority of questions. If any of the other candidates would have gotten that many questions, they would have been the winner.

It did annoy me that Chris Matthews seemed to be ignoring Hunter. He would start by asking a question to Romney, then he would move on down the line but he would always stop right before he got to Hunter.

But with the limited amount of time that he had, he definitely did better than any of the other candidates, including Mitt Romney who seemed slicker than Slick Willy himself.

Hunter must have done well last night—Michael Medved has been singing his praises big time today.

..maybe it's because I have been following politics most of my life and can see right through the "packaging and preparation" but there are many who still buy the subjective nonsense and ignore substance--oh the curse of post-modernism...

LOL, I should probably watch the video before posting in the thread I guess. I didn’t watch it because I thought it was just Duncan Hunter in the debate, which I watched last night.
