Please reread my post. I clearly stated that this thread is an exception. Frankly, I think the original post was a tad too provocative.

you missed the point Lucifer tried to over throw Heavenly Father take the throne of God"I will exalt my throne above the stars of God" (Is. 14:13) = a thrown above the stars, but not necessarily above God. The next verse he talks about ascending above the clouds, but not above God. He doesn't say, "I will be above the Most High," but rather: "I will be like the Most High."
Now if it was quite troublesome (and evicting) to God for one of His up-until-then perfect angelic leaders to issue a grab for divinity, how do you think God fills when a not-so-perfect mere mortal makes a grasp for divinity?
Lucifer wasn't necessarily overthrowing God's throne as much as attempting to add another throne somewhere in the heavenlies--above the stars & clouds.
It was this plan to be on the same level playing field that got this response from God: "Thy pomp is brought down to the grave...How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground..." (Is. 14:11-12)

I don’t know if it’s FReepspeech; I just always assumed it meant “no problem.”

When someone makes an assertion like the following, they haven't much of a clue regarding the way the Israelis are able to use DNA to trace descendants of the twelve tribes all over the world: I would not expect them to be able to find anything because DNA tracking does not work that way. The poster has thus implied that the Israelis are not finding what they are surely finding because the Israeli's methods are not making a connection to Native Americans for the LDS researchers who cannot find evidence to support Joe Smith's big lie. I think we have another dancing hamster ...

It has always to be God plan to grant joint heirs to those who quality!
You keep misusing the word “perfect” as in flawless, and that is not how the Lord uses this word, it is the way the world uses this word but Heavenly Father difinition meaning complete!
God was always sinless as was his Son Jesus Christ also who was sinless!
Hebrew 11
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. (complete)

So why could not the sword be made of steel? Since we see now steel is present!:)”
I’m playing with you, restornu. The steel is referenced as a logical trap.

Then obviously LDS Doctrine has changed in the last 40 years.
Or you never did understand, I was around and in the church 40 years ago, it has not changed, Hmm what was the other option (see my prior post about you setting a TRAP
O Contraire'. To even acknowledge that there might be a God above our God or a God besides our God could be very detrimental to your eternal destination.
First Corinthians 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But, these Gods are not our God. The have no effect on us we do not have anything to do with them.
God leaves no room for other Gods either before him, after him or contemporaneous to him. There is one God. Not simply one God for us. But one God, period. You will not become a god or a God or a GOD. You have God's word on that one.
Exedous 20:33 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. He didnt say they did not exist, but that we were not to worship them. We dont. Their existence does not threaten Gods authority over us. Does you neighbor being a father threaten your authority over your children? Does your DAD? Your assertion here is ludicrous on the face of it.
Answer this one question: Does the LDS Church teach that God "became" God by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel?
God Is, we are his children, this the church teaches. We can progress to become like him, this the church teaches. It is logical to assume that if we can become as God, God progressed to his current state from ours, but it is merely a logical construct and No, the church does not teach it. It is however discussed by the members as a very logical conclusion to come to.
So the simple answer is, No, the church does not teach it, but it is probably true anyway.
I'm looking for clarity. I'm not baiting you, I just want you to explain what it is that you believe.
Me personally? Yes, I believe That God was once a man and before time itself was started by him he Became God.
despite the fact that you have a 130 year history of expressly teaching that doctrine
It has never been Church Doctrine that God was a man and progressed to be a God, there was a couplet, and much discussion, but God doesnt think we need a revelation on that because its not directly necessary for our salvation.
Isaiah 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
(Arnold voice from Twins--) You stop to soon!
Isaiah 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Yes, Jesus is the only God who will ever be created on this earth. He is all we need to focus on and all we need to worry about emulating.
How does that square with LDS beliefs?
Absolutely fine.
In Utah, they raise some turkeys, when you raise turkeys, you have to keep them in a round pen because if there is thunder, or some loud noise they will all run into a corner and suffocate themselves, but in a round pen, they run until they get tired and sleep it off.
You guys remind me of a bunch of turkeys (Its just too easy) you all keep trying to run into corners and suffocate. We keep directing you away from the corners and you acuse us of misdirection, but we are just trying to keep you turkeys from hurting yourselves.
(Man, that was a fun analogy, and true too).
Ive got to go play with my kids, see you all later.

“I will not vote for Romney, ever. I am an extreme case perhaps, but the danger to a society that would accept Romney’s beliefs is more damaging to this country than four years of the witch. In the long run, the mainstreaming of Mormonism is dangerous - as dangerous as Islamicism taking over the White House, it is an affront to God. That is my personal opinion. If I must eat my words, they will remain sweet to my immortal soul.”
That is where I stand too colorcountry. The chaos that is this thread is as nothing to what ten years of a Romney presidency would become.

Yes, I believe That God was once a man and before time itself was started by him he Became God.How did he become a "man" before time began?
Was he a "man" on another planet who "became" God after going through a mortal test on an earth like ours?
Gosh I think we may be moving towards some clarity here.
