There is no theocracy in Iraq, anymore than Karzai’s government in Afghanistan is a theocracy. Saudi Arabia, Iran, perhaps. It’s the most liberal constitution in the arab world.

>What does it say when Liberals want Paul to win the nomination, as much as Libertarians do?<

The fact you are spending so much time on the subject to make us all aware of his voting record shows me you have deeper concerns than the fact he won’t get more than 3%. Why bother? Move on to something more fruitful.

That’s what I was wondering, had you changed your position. I don’t support the GOP because of their position on the borders.

Agreed. But Ronald Reagan was unaware of 9/11 too. The world has changed since he made that statement.

In my opinion, we must make the effort regardless of the irrationality or hatred of those people, because we know now they are coming for us if we let them.

What is going on in Afghanistan and Iraq may not work. We may indeed have to resort to turning them into rubble and killing as many as we can.

But I think the options we have chosen are honorable, and give a chance to humane directions which may end up improving not only our lives, but theirs as well.

Remember, history does not have many examples of what we are attempting to do. The USA broke the mold after WWII when we rehabilitated (nearly single handedly) the countries that were responsible for the deaths and injuries of not only hundreds of thousands of Americans, but millions of people world wide.

If you had asked the majority of people in 1945 if Japan could be turned into a democracy, would many people have thought it possible of such a seemingly irrationally hating people?

‘That’s what I was wondering, had you changed your position. I don’t support the GOP because of their position on the borders.”

Nope, my position is the same. That said, single issue voting is self defeating. The only chance at getting the border secured is via the GOP conservatives.

Ron Paul stands no chance of winning the Republican nomination. He will be in the rear where the ass belongs. As long as some here push Paul hard, I will push back and highlight Paul voted to keep Saddam in power to rape and murder the innocent. I will also point out when his supporters denigrate our troops.

These days the GOP conservatives are a minority party. Yes, I am a one issue voter because I think the borders are the most critical thing to saving America. In my mind freedom in America comes before freedom in Iraq.

When Ron Paul had the chance to VOTE TO REMOVE SADDAM, HE VOTED NO! If Paul had his way, Saddam would still be in power to rape and murder the innocent!"

So it is the job of American soldiers to shed blood and die for liberal globalist nation-building efforts wherever a dictator is raping and murdering? Or is your concern over foreign rape and murder only to be selectively applied to dictators in the Oil Patch?

Ron Paul's position on nation-building in the Mideast has been and remains exactly the same position held by Ronald Reagan, George Schultz, George H. W. Bush, James Baker III, Lawrence Eagleburger, Brent Scowcroft, and Henry Kissinger. Not to mention that the more defense-oriented Dims like Sam Nunn and Zell Miller and Lieberman can support it. Ditto for serious leaders in New Europe, a few like Germany and Britain in Old Europe and our neighbor Canada.

It is the neo-con nation-building in Iraq that has isolated us. It is killing our young soldiers for an Islamic state headed by former terrorists.

Bush and the neo-cons now stand completely isolated, the pathetic neo-cons pointing at Bush and saying his execution of their brilliant plan was flawed. So, it is quite ironic for you to try to insult us, who represent the views of the Republican party foreign policy consensus, as isolationists. It is the neo-con policy failure of the Bush administration which is truly isolationist because it has isolated us in domestic and foreign policy and isolated us with our traditional allies and isolated us as the new minority party in Congress. And it will hand the White House back to the Xlintons if pursued further.

No points for you.

Who's trying to get points? I've noticed that the Ron Paul worshipers all try to convey their own traits onto others.

Another assessment is that you all seem to be defensive and get kind of rude if anyone dares to suggest that Ron Paul might be less than perfect.

Kind of like Democrats...

What does it say when Soros, Moveon, Dummies and Kos Kids express the same opinions as you? It is impossible to take you seriously because you sound no different than them.

Puh-leeze.

We ain't drinkin' the neo-con Kool-aid. You are. Apparently, you won't be content until Iraq becomes the GOP's Jonestown mass suicide. Yeah, yeah, I know, the Muzzies are gonna get you if you won't build sweet-natured little Arab democratic paradises.

We can see from the casualty figures how that's working out.

Nonsense.

After I refuted your false assertion about history (bombing oil platforms does not equate to nation-building), you now want to launch a fresh attack to distract from the flaming carcass of your little strawman.

That is truly Dem-think in my experience.

After I refuted your false assertion about history...

Nonsense.

All I said was "Reagan bombed Iranian oil platforms a few times." There's nothing for you to refute there. You just used it to get on your Ron Paul pulpit.

Get over your delusions of grandeur.

Maybe there is more to them than meets the eye. It is easy to read their words and discern they have ulterior motives that may not be in the best interest of keeping the left out of power.

You pay no attention to foreign affairs it seems.

I know when a government that previously protected its Christian minority and allowed a Christian to become foreign minister was replaced by an official Muslim theocracy with a damned state religion. And I know when Christians are persecuted.

From a Christian standpoint, Saddam was a far more liberal ruler than the present Muslim terrorist regime, one which will without our presence, surely become as dangerous as Iran. This is a policy similar to that which is murdering and raping Christians from Syria to Lebanon to Sudan. Not to mention all the other places where your precious Relgion Of Peace™ reigns.

The Lord shall have His vengeance on those who defend and bless the persecutors of the saints. Only the Kurds deserve our support.
