Excerpt -

WASHINGTON, May 3 (UPI) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., said in the Senate Thursday she and Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., will introduce legislation to end authority for the war in Iraq.

The bill will propose Oct. 11, 2007, as the expiration date for the congressional resolution that authorized President George W. Bush to use force in Iraq. That resolution was approved Oct. 11, 2002.

Is that even constitutional?

Wouldn’t any expiry date have had to be included in the original resolution?

If the troop surge has positive results over the next 6-12 months, all of these surrender gestures could come back to haunt the Hildebeast and the other surrender monkeys.

Well, Hillary is trying to show the liberals that she is on their side. She has always said she “takes responsibility for her vote” in favor of the war resolution but never said it was a mistake. Now she can say that she wants to terminate the original resolution.

She wants to play both sides of the street here.

Doesn’t this violate the ex post facto clause of Art. I sect. 9 of the Constitution?

Hey, this is a brilliant strategy to win the war against global terrorism.

Pass a new law and - poof! - the war is magically over and done with. Yippee!

The irresponsible behavior of the Democrats is absolutely sickening.

Not if no one hears about it. The MSM will continue their silence about any positive news from Iraq. She knows this. That's why she can make such a disgusting partisan move like this and never be called to account.

It takes two sides to end a war

by Donald Sensing on May 2, 2007 8:25 PM

Just now House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on TV, in response to the veto of the Iraq spending bill by President Bush, “The Democrats are committed to ending this war.” Immediately afterward, Senate majority leader Harry Reid reemphasized that the Democrats’ goal is “to end the war.”

Note that they are not committed to winning the war, just “ending” it. Reid is still speaking as I write and his mantra seems to be “ending the war,” which he’s said several times. Wait, Pelosi again, “we have to end the war.”

This is just stunning. Neither of these tiny lights of American politics (nor their colleagues) seem to recognize that just as it takes two sides to wage war, it takes two sides to end it. The Democrats think they can end the war simply by packing the troops up and bringing them home.

Is it possible for two such prominent politicians to be that stupid?

1. The war will not end in Iraq just because US troops evacuate. The insurgencies will continue more intensely. The power vacuum created by American departure will have to be filled by someone. Iran is already operating inside Iraq; we can expect their presence there to climb dramatically if the US packs up and leaves. Many knowledgeable observers say there is a real risk that Saudi Arabia will send troops into Iraq to protect Iraqi Sunnis from the Shias and their Iranian sponsors. This is a recipe for a regional war that no one wants, even Iran.

2. The enemy of the United States in Iraq is not really either Shia or Sunni militias. It is al Qaeda. Al Qaeda will not agree that the war is “ended” just because Pelosi and Reid say so. They will absolutely see the Democrat-envisioned withdrawal of US troops as a stunning victory on their part. But, in al Qaeda’s mind, it will not be a fin de la guerre victory. It will be a victory that will embolden them to intensify their offensive operations against the West.

The Democrats’ plan to “end the war” is really a plan to prolong it, increase its violence and bloodshed and raise the probability that the war will be brought to our shores in ways and lethality we cannot yet foresee.

The Iraq war is the only thing you are going to hear from these generic Marxists who are only interested in power and control — their entire agenda is, and will continue to be, NEGATIVE AND DEFEATIST — they offer this country nothing but that, along with destructive, anti-American socialism which will also pursue the suppression of free speech and any voice that exposes their repressive agenda.

Isn’t it fascinating that Hillary! picks the most feeble and Corrupt Senator ( except for our own Uncle Ted) in the Senate. He’s probably going to croak before it comes up for a vote. Does that stop her from using him? Nahh..
it’s what the Clintons do.
Byrd is probably senile enough to think this move will “sanctify” him, either that or he is the tool of his staffers. How Impressive!

Our man Fred, the other night on Hannity & ?? expressed his opinion that the dims will end up paying a heavy price for their actions.

When it all comes down to the n cuttin, a majority of American voters will not agree to “cut and run” with the white flag crowd.

I say let these idiots rave on. You don’t really want to intercede when your enemy is make a fool of themselves.
