I don’t know why some people push states’ rights and ignore federalism when it comes to LIFE!
For some, I know it’s just a cop-out, but some are sincere, and I don’t get it.
Exactly right! It is a federal matter. All states must protect human life.
Cynically, there are some politicians who use "states' rights," "anti-Roe" arguments to sound pro-life, when really they just want to pass the hot potato and move on to what they really care about.
Others are genuine in their desire to protect life, but they fail to understand the concept of federalism. I explain it to them this way: when you say abortion is a state matter, substitute "slavery" for "abortion" in that thought.
