Others are genuine in their desire to protect life, but they fail to understand the concept of federalism. I explain it to them this way: when you say abortion is a state matter, substitute "slavery" for "abortion" in that thought.

I feel that Ron Paul is sincere about the life issue, and is SUPPOSED to understand the Constitution, but he is a states’ rights guy. Go figure.
It seems that people just ignore the federalism aspect of the Constitution.
