Republican Presidential Candidate Debate #1 Reagan Library 05/03/07 - Official Discussion Thread
The debate will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, and will air live on MSNBC from 8:00 to 9:30 pm (ET) and stream live on MSNBC.com and politico.com and will include audience questions gathered on politico.com.
Tell the whole story:
Many of the law’s core elements, including the requirement that all people in the state get insurance, were in Romney’s original proposal in 2005. The Democratic legislature added many of its own ideas to the final law, including a $295 fee per employee for businesses who do not offer health insurance to their workers. Romney vetoed that provision but was overridden by the legislature.
Mitt stuck the socialist camel’s nose firmly under the tent flap. Anyone with a brain knew that the Dems would immediately invite the whole animal in to stay. Pretty high “duh” factor on that one.
By the way:
Romney’s action on health care was pushed by a coalition of liberal groups who were considering a ballot initiative to expand health coverage if the state did not do anything.
Romney decided he would rather have a free market based plan of is own rather than one pushed by libs which indeed would have been socialism.
Yeah, with Mitt and his supporters, it’s always somebody else’s fault.
“Yeah, with Mitt and his supporters, its always somebody elses fault.”
It was. He was governor of a state that had a Democratic state legislature. You think the state would have been better off with a Dem governor rather than Romney who vetoed many bad Dem ideas? Then I guess you will really like it when Hillary is Prez along with a totally Dem federal legislature. Boy, that sure would be better than having Romney as Prez, wouldn’t it.
Well, fatigue has struck, so off to bed I go, EV. Romney won tonite, you know. Nitey nite.
Sad thing is that EV will not put things into perspective.
Mass was in financial trouble Romney had talent to fix that if they could hold on to it!
Which we see now the Liberals would not allow it!
Mass has always be a welfare state but Mitt tried to improve a situation lessening the burden on the tax payer!
In his health care he wanted to wean off of as many as possible the poor poor will always be with us so Medicate would take care of that, but those others who fell through the crack where they could not afford the full cost of their insurance, Mitt made it so they had to pay something according to their ability.
Like the scale they have in City Hospitals where people on plan according to their income.
Some pay $20, 40, 60, 80 a visited according to their yearly income of which plan they fall under!
So for the insurance it was set up similar and required that those who income fell with in those ranges had to buy their health care.
This way much of the pass burden of pay all of their health care was no longer the case of picking up the whole tab.
So the burden was lessen but sadly the over barring liberals have usurp Romney plan and adulterated it!
As far as those other issues about Romney and pro choice etc I understand it so clearly you have to promise not to touch the 3rd rail if you want to get elected.
If one is honest there was no way Romney could changed in those issues if they were in effect before he came, but many voters are ignorant of those things and the buzz factory like EV buzz factroy trys to scare the unenlighten voter.
Romney platform was not on those other issues on pro-choice he want to use his talent to make Mass sovlent!
But the left media and political horse there has other ideas!
Socialism, pure and simple. Here, the link didn’t work:

LOL so now you think he is a communitst your are waaaaaaaay oooouuut thereeeeeee EV!:)
Did you ever hear of NO FREE LUNCH!
I did not watch the debate live but saw a replay. I have to say the whole thing sounded like a wound up version of Chrissy’s Hardball. The questions for the most part could have come from DNC central. That said I think most of the candidates performed OK.
Yep.
ABC radio played it as a sound bite this morning. (The one about following Bin Laden to the gates of hell)
Regretfully, everytime Mittens Romney opened his mouth, it was backtracking from an earlier statement from the past, Julie supports the babykilling industry and McCain keeps telling himself, yes there is a Santa Clause........
The other candidates didn’t get as much time as the three mentioned, think the folks at MSNBC are trying to sway pubilc opinion to support the front runners?
