Actually....
They all get USSS protection.
I’m a little surprised at this story. Normally, all the candidates get USSS protection. It’s by law.
I thought only party nominees got protection. No?
Are you sure that’s true for candidates in the primary, 7 months before the first primary?
And how far down does this go? Can I get USSS protection by declaring myself a presidential candidate?
"I'm a little surprised at this story. Normally, all the candidates get USSS protection. It's by law."
Thanks for the info, I always assumed they did not get that until after the primary.
It’s the nominees, not the candidates who by law are provided SS protectin.
Not this far out. I don't think that kicks in until after the conventions. Or at least until a nominee is known.
I'd hate to think that the GOP would be billing the U.S. Government for SS protection for 10 candidates.

It’s against the law of natural selection. I think it should be a part of the political process that you should be able to survive, and thrive, without artificial life support. Just my 2 cents worth.
It is available, and they will get it only when they ask. This is due to RFK. Personally, I have no problem with it because it occurs on both sides of the aisle. It is a sad state of the world we live in.
