53% of people found Sarkozy "more convincing" than leftist Royal, who only gains 31%.
Sarkozy was found "more competent" (+6%) and more "sympathetic" (+4%) than his opponent. Royal is seen "more courageous" (+11%) and more dynamic" (+9%) than her opponent.
Sarkozy is found more convincing on major issues like security and economy.
The French swift voters favor Sarkozy by 50% against 25% for Royal.
Finally, voters were 52% (+4) to wish Sarkozy's victory against only 37% (+1) Royal's.
Go Sarkozy go!
Did he say “There he goes again...?”
Good news indeed.
It's nice to know that France MAY be turning around.
FYI
Hell about to freeze over. A (somewhat) pro-american leader in France.
This could be the tipping point that will turn around European Liberalism not only in France but many other states. Let us hope.
Swift voters?
Here’s hoping it is a trend, here as well. I think that the Liberals and Muslims have overplayed their hands and the center voters are starting to see the light...
I meant swing voters.
I confused Royal with Kerry...
They actually have a lot in common...
Is that like Swift Boat voters? (’cuz I supported them and I’ll vote for Sarkozy even if I am a registered pubbie)
That’s not the result of the debate that the NPR lady quoted yesterday....
She reported that the french were impressed with how “strong” Royal sounded, but did sort of admit Sarkozy had better facts and figures - does that sound familiar?
Do you think she heard of different debate? /sarc
That was probably the seen as "more Dynamic" +9, part of the poll.
She probably just raised her voice in the debate - "Mon Dieu, what strength in the woman!" bleats the frenchie left.
