People have eaten millions of chickens that were given feed tainted with recalled pet food, federal officials said Tuesday, though they said the threat to human health is minimal.
The announcement came after an investigation of chicken farms in Indiana found that 38 of the facilities had given contaminated feed to poultry raised for human consumption, and that 2.5 million to 3 million people ate them.
The officials added that they expect to discover that chickens on possibly hundreds of farms in other states were also given tainted feed.

Thanks for info, I will check out organic sources.
You are absolutely right...see my post #110.
You’re welcome.
Here’s the kicker — it’s been over 100 years since Congress passed the Pure Food Act and the Meat Inspection Act. I guess the FDA needs a little more time to enforce it.
And, btw, Hannaford brand now has mushrooms from China, and I almost bought them. Keep reading those labels, and call the stores.
I’m going to contact Hannaford, and tell them I will no longer be buying their canned mushrooms.
Wow, I am sooo depressed over all this, I am going to pour myself a bigger glass of organic sulfite free wine and try to sleep. Good nite,
I’m so desperate that I’m going to have wine WITH sulfites, because it’s all I have.
‘nite
Yes, that's why I'm not going to worry.
And this adulteration that so escaped notice looks a lot like the result of simple carelessness or greed. What if an oil funded terrorist wanted to purposely smuggle something funky into the US food supply? Wouldn’t be too hard to offer a few Chinese rice gluten processing yokels a royal sum to “buy their business.”

Unknown if this has been posted but I no longer care.
Please be SAFE.
Menu Foods is now expanding the recall to include cuts and gravy and select other products which do not include ChemNutra wheat gluten but which were manufactured at any of Menu Foods plants during the period that ChemNutra wheat gluten was used at that plant, to the extent they have not already been subject to a recall, due to the possibility of cross-contamination.
CROSS CONTAMINATION...D*mn sons of b*tches!
We need all names of all companies doing business with all of these importers, manufacturers, distributors, etc. NOW. If they wont recall all of this cr*p, tell us who is making or selling it so we can make our own decisions.
And at the same time the FDA won’t let formula-identical non prescription medicines go on the market even when a patent for an approved brand name has expired, unless they’re individually tested for effect. I mean, a molecule of a medication might decide it’s not going to work if it doesn’t like the brand name on its package.
Did Wal Mart notice that the boxes were too heavy?
WASHINGTON, May 1, 2007 - Diestel Turkey Ranch, a Chinese Camp, Calif., firm, is voluntarily recalling approximately 6,907 pounds of ready-to-eat turkey products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today.
FWIW...
The power of lobbying.
The MSM is doing it’s damnedest to spike this story. They wouldn't want to anger any big advertiser, would they?
The elephant in the living room is: this contamination is so widespread, there is no way that this stuff isn’t in the regular human food chain either.
Does anyone believe that these unscrupulous suppliers knew, or cared, that the tainted food was being used for animal feed only?
As regulars here surely know, just because the MSM is reporting on that, doesn’t mean they don’t know anything about it.
Too funny! When my kids were smaller, I used to tell them not to put toys in their mouths because they were made by Chinese prisoners with tuberculosis. They didn't get it at the time, but now that they're older, they tell their little brother the same thing LOL.
One word:
Vegetarian
Well here's a chilling play on words for you. Does it say MADE in the USA, or does it say PACKED in the USA? Blackbird.
