His eyes look so sad in this photo With the love and respect he has for our military, I am sure he is deeply saddened.

Another late night question, ladies (and silent jonny) -
Have any of you tried those flower things for your yard that are like a green rug and you just lay it down, water it, and the flowers come up?
I have no gardening ability, but would like to put some flowers around the front steps. I think this is the only way anything in my care is going to grow, but am afraid to waste the money for something that’s a scam. Thanks for any info.

I used one of those flower rug thingys years ago. It worked quite well. It certainly is far easier than the old fashioned, digging in the dirt way. ;*)

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
- Ecclesiastes (ch. III, v. 1-8)
MUCH LOVE!!!!!

old fashioned, digging in the dirt way.I hear you. I would really like to avoid anything that would mess up my purple nail polish. I've been thinking of getting a cute pair of Wellies to wear while I water my little patch of garden 'rug.' I'm pretty sure that looking cute while you work is half the battle. : )

I’m hearing reports about the damage from the scary weather yesterday .. and what’s expected today. WoW~! Are you and yours OK? I KNOW too well what 80-90- 100++ winds are .. I have an absolute dread of them since the hurricanes I survived. Prayers for you all, sleuthie! Let me know what’s going on.

President Bush came to Michigan in September last year. It was for the Bachard campaign for the Senate. He did a great speech. After the speech he shook the people's hand. When I went up to him all I could say was Awesome.... And I told him he was the best, and he smiled and said thank you. He signed my name tag. He said a few words to my husband about Texas. My husband is from Texas. The President was really pressed for time. He was so nice... The secret service was so tight, I am surprised he could even breath.
There was no press there. That made it nice.
