Well, that does make the case a little more damning. I have no problem with calling for all who promote such nonsense to step down. If I heard this from the NRA, I would be right onboard. I dont know SAF and if it has any hidden agendas or not. I do know that liberal staffers and govt employees who are well below the level of Gonzalez and President Bush initiate a lot of stuff, and conservatives tend to assume that the President and his cabinet are the ones doing it. In fact, most times they are so high up and watered down from the details, they find out about such screw ups like you and I, in the papers.

SAF is, if anything, more rigorous than the NRA. They brook no illusions that the Second Amendment is about "hunting."
