The White House said Bush would veto the bill on his return to the White House and then go before television cameras at 6:10 p.m. EDT, just before the evening news shows, to make a statement, coincidentally on the fourth anniversary of his so-called Mission Accomplished speech.

It’s the rhetoric. They claimed that it’s now Bush’s fault that the troops don’t have funding if he vetoes. Madness, complete upside-down, inside-out madness.
All according to script and something we all knew was coming, but it’s INFURIATING.
Honestly? All I actually remember is Reid saying “change of direction in Iraq, change of direction in Iraq”...
Not sure if they used the wounded warrior rhetoric...just the tone of their voices makes my skin crawl.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
coincidentally? Only after careful planning and delay by the RATs.
He vetoed the recent stem cell funding bill, if I recall correctly.
NFP
He should call on Reid and Pelosi to resign for a conflict of interest.
Oh PLEASE Mr. President - use the words “shove it” in your statement.....
Yeah, that might be overkill. hehe I pray that he’s strong and confident in his presentation and finds his words gracefully.
I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep tonight seeing that picture. She scares me enough with a strait face.
Bush’s continued attempts to stay above the politics in this are a great gesture but they hurt him in the overall impression of how he is doing his job. I really wish he would call out the Dems that would get our troops killed playing politics and eventually get more Americans killed here at home.
I hope he talks about dhimmitude and defeatism.
I hope that the President is very tough on the Democrat traitors tonight.
He needs to say that the Islamic extremists who want to conquer the world are looking for any sign that America is weak and not willing to fight, and the liberal Democrats are giving them such assurances on a daily basis. Without this constant positive reinforcement from the appeasing Democrats, it is quite likely that the War efforts would be easier and quicker.
War is partly physical and largely psychological. The Democrats are keeping our enemies in the psychological battle far longer than they should be in it.

I believe he should make it clear that if the dhimmis don’t give him a clean bill that he will move money from other sources at DOD. He should then give examples like closing bases in heavy dhimmi districts on the coasts and transferring all personnel to heavy Republican districts.
Actually, he vetoed the stem cell research bill as well. :)
Reid said. “Today we renew our call to President Bush: There is still time to listen. There is still time to sign this bill and change course in Iraq.”
Today I veto your surrender bill. There is no hope for a coward. There is no hope that you’ll ever be able to override my veto of your surrender bill, coward.
I am the very model of the modern liberal senator,
Betraying U.S. Soldiers for Islamo-fascists sinister;
Ill sell out for George Soros scorning those who fight and die for me,
And when I get in trouble Chucky Schumers there to lie for me.
My chips are on Al Qaida, no, I do not care to hedge my bet,
While others mourn when soldiers die, I calculate the seats Ill get.
Though this treasonous behavior thwarts description save in metaphor--
Like damning of the SCOTUS for upholding laws you voted for.
I used to play the moderate but let me say those days are through.
Ill cut the troops off at the knees because Pelosi tells me to.
Thats why in matters treasonous, unprincipled and sinister,
I am the very model of a modern liberal senator.
