It's chinese, and subtitled, and excellent.
It shows what communism is all about.
I'm really surprised China made the movie.
It is a total condemnation of Mao and his whole movement.

I have never seen a more anti-Communist movie. The horrors of this ideology were everywhere. The cultural revolution under Mao was enough to convince me what kind of society exist in the Workers Paradise.

ct_libertarian is sooo right! To Live (Huozhe) is an outstanding portrayal on film of survival in a truly nightmarish society.
The story is kinda like Ayn Rand’s worst nightmare of the looters running the US in “Atlas Shrugged.”
