He’s lucky he WAS the one who was injured - it could have been his aide, or one of the drivers dodging out of the way of the blue lights and siren, or one of the drivers getting dodged into.

He's asking forgiveness of the people of New Jersey, for being the kind of man who thinks the rules only apply to the peasants, and not the power hungry megalomaniacs like him.

And unfortunately in NJ he's right, the rules don't apply to "the right kind of people". He'll be contrite for a few days, and pay his traffic ticket, and a few weeks from now he'll be right back to stealing from us, and intruding in our lives. In NJ, the rules are only to keep the stupid serfs in line.

If the rest of the country had the same government we do, there would be armed revolution tomorrow. But for some reason the trained chimps that live here seem to think that's it's perfectly OK.
