Disarm America? Here's how [liberal wants Nazi type search of every household in the U.S.]
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | April 29, 2007 | Dan Simpson

When people talk about doing something about guns in America, one of the points that comes to the fore is, "How could America disarm even if it wanted to? There are so many guns out there." Today I want to address the question of "how" -- if we decided to. Since I have little or no power to influence the "if" part of the issue, I will stick with "how."

Now, how would one disarm the American population? First of all, federal or state laws would need to make it a crime punishable by a $1,000 fine and one year in prison per weapon to possess a firearm. The population would then be given three months to turn in their guns, without penalty.

The disarmament process would begin after the initial three-month amnesty. Special squads of police would be formed and trained to carry out the work. Then, on a random basis to permit no advance warning, city blocks and stretches of suburban and rural areas would be cordoned off and searches carried out in every business, dwelling and empty building. Thoroughness would be at the level of the sort of search that is carried out in Crime Scene Investigations. All firearms would be seized. The owners of weapons found in the searches would be prosecuted: $1,000 and one year in prison for each firearm.

Clearly, since such sweeps could not take place all across a city, county, state or the country at the same time, guns would move. But fairly quickly there would begin to be gun-swept, gun-free areas where there should be no firearms. If there were, those carrying them would be subject to quick confiscation and prosecution. On the streets it would be a question of stopping and searching anyone, even Grandma with her walker.

The passage of such a law by congress would clearly signal the end of the awkward period. At which point all politicians who voted for this should be shot on sight and those who proposed and or lobbied for this idiot idea should be tracked down and shot.

Ditto

A nationwide Waco.

I can see police stations under siege.

National Guard called out.

And that an interesting point. Every so often the military run an exercise in the form of a survey to gauge the attitude of of troops towards civilian revolt. It is my understanding that would-be dictators would have a hard time as our military would be very disinclined to fire on the civilian population - especially in a popular rebellion (they’d possily be shooting a brothers, fathers, uncles, cousins, sisters, etc.). Kent State to the contrary; as that was inexperienced troops, leadership, and panic.

If it does happen they absolutely should start in East LA, I’m sure MS13 will just passively disarm themselves. And if we cannot win the war on drug smuggling then what about gun smuggling? Our southern borders will have so many gunrunners it would make it absolutely impossible to observe much less try to ferret out gun runners from dope runners or illegals or terrorists which of course will see a huge continental free-fire mall, school, stadium shooting zone.

I agree it will be all about informants and I think it would be wise to keep that in mind about who knows what just in case.

But in a morbid manner I hope it does happen, it would be the impetous to house clean our government.

It would be much easier to allow the US to be like Israel, let teenaged girls carry an Uzi to ballet class. Plus it should drastically reduce date rapes. More than likely a state like Alaska will leave the US, with our oil reserve we could hold off maintenance on the pipeline and gas will become cheaper in Italy within a month. Alaskans will never lay down arms because then the bears will be at the top of the food chain, unless Hitlery feels like sleeping with the bears is better.

LOL...

It would hardly be a ‘civil war’,

That's right. We have all the guns.

This is why I keep a minimum of 500 rounds for each of my guns on hand at all times (over a dozen weapons).

Yes, some are ‘only’ .22s but I can punch a quarter at 100 yards with my .22 rifles and I do have several larger calibers that would use military ammo just fine (30-06, 308, 5.56).

So, MOLON LABE Danny boy!

***The Federal government can not “bring in the Army” against USA citizens.***

By the time the Government reaches this point of gun confiscation they will be able to do any thing they wish.

Remember, Liberals will be the ones in power.

You have any logistical support for the people against the rank power of the Government?
California caved in with the passage of a mere gun law.

This is exactly the type of thing that the founding fathers intended the Second Amendment to prevent.

The populous is to be well armed for use AGAINST a tyrannical government and thus ensure our own liberties.

I don't think that very many LEOs would be very happy about trying to carry this out. How many firefights would it take before they become downright hostile to the idea. My guess is not many.

This can all be prevented by NOT electing to office, anyone who doesn't reject this idea out of hand.

Same decade but the they did pretty much adopt the same thing.

National Weapons Law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia National Weapons Law From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The German Weapons Law (German: Waffengesetz) of March 18, 1938, was a gun control law that was enacted by Germany’s National Socialist government.
Pre-existing Firearms Restrictions in Germany Before the Nazi regime took power, the liberal Weimar Government had enacted the Law on Firearms and Ammunition in 1928. The 1928 Law established broad national regulations on firearms ownership. The 1928 Law required persons to get a “firearms acquisition permit” from the authorities to buy, trade, inherit, or receive a firearm as a gift. To buy ammunition required an “ammunition acquisition permit.” Hunters were required to obtain an “annual hunting permit.”
All firearms were required to bear a serial number a mark of the maker or dealer.
As a result of the 1928 Law, the national German government knew the owner and location of every legally-held firearm in the country. This law afforded to the Nazi regime that took power in 1933 the information needed to conduct searches and seizures of firearms from political opponents and other targets. Raids of homes started in 1933; even Albert Einstein’s apartment was searched in the quest to take any firearms he might have owned.
In addition, Nazi authorities banned the importation of handguns by order in June, 1933, and they refused to issue firearms permits to persons deemed untrusthworthy. In 1935, the Citizenship Law was decreed, which excluded Jews
from civil rights. Local police were commanded in late 1935 not to issue firearms permits to Jews.
The 1938 Law A first reading of the the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938 might suggest that it effectively lessened handgun control and other restrictions from what they were under the Law on Firearms and Ammunition of 1928. Firearms ownership was restricted to, “...persons whose trust worthiness is not in question and who can show a need for a (gun) permit”. Some view this language as excluding only
criminals and persons under the age of eighteen from ownership. One writer has claimed that the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938 effectively liberalized firearms ownership in Nazi Germany. [1] Analyzing the Nazi Weapons Law using principles of the Nazi legal system, however, shows that any apparent “liberalizing” of the gun ownership restrictions operated to enable Nazi police, military and other pro-Nazi personnel to obtain and possess firearms. Much of the German population was already disarmed by 1938, and the Jews’ citizenship rights were already revoked.
There is no evidence of an expansion of legal, citizen ownership of firearms in Nazi Germany as a result of the 1938 Law. The detailed explanation of these facts, with citations to legal and historical references, appears in Part IV of “Gun Control”: Gateway to Tyranny [2].
The 1938 Law expressly barred Jews from businesses involving firearms. On November 11, 1938 [3], new regulations were issued barring Jews from owning any
weapons, even clubs or knives. The new regulations coincided with the national night of violent persecution of Jews and destruction of Jews’ synagogues and businesses, known as Krystallnacht.

That tells you exactly what is in the mind of a committed leftist. Fascism, totalitarianism, seizure of private property, total loss of privacy and using the armed extension of the government, the police, to carry out government’s orders instead of stopping crime.
