I’m a gun smith. The vast majority of the weapons of this type you see in the states are not AK’s but a different model. They share an action that looks the same but internally is different from the fully automatics. The stocks are also different model to model. There are a dozen different countries who make them and there is a great variance in both quality and aesthetics. Every car is not a Chevy and every truck is not a Kenworth. Every rifle based on the Kalashnikov action is not an AK.

Gives the mall policy real teeth, doesn’t it? Not.

We've got a real pro-gun government in MO presently. It is really nice. Anyone over 23 can carry in their car with no permit or anything. The problem comes when we go into KS, where you get busted bad for ignoring a sign, and it is a felony to carry in your car. Yes, even if you have a permit, if you have a loaded gun in your car and not on you in KS, it is a felony. So you have to unload and lock your gun up if you see a sign. Yeah, that's really safe, unloading your gun in a car. Not to mention the mayhem that will ensue if someone sees you unload your gun in a parking lot.

Anytime anyone suffers loss or damage from firearms violence in one of these mythical “gun free zones”, they need to sue the mall. Maybe the idiot lawyers that suggested these crime-inviting policies will eventually decide where the risks really lie.

My wife has standing orders to sue if I ever get hurt because of a gun ban sign.

I like his plan and the other posters who said pretty much the same thing. As long as it’s concealed and legal, how will the proprietor even know? I’m not into, “I choose to follow this law and not that law” but the law states it’s legal to carry with a permit, I say go with that.

CNN’s Mike Brooks said he sources saying an off duty cop who was shopping, shot and killed suspect.

If true, thank goodness he was there!

Whoever wrote that should be shot because what they are doing is castrating the common US citizen. “17 to 45”...Screw the bastard who wrote that crap!

The text that you're criticizing is definition of the "The militia of the United States." In addition, each state and territory has its own militia with its own definition thereof. (The US Constitution calls these the "Militia of the several States.") Usually, the upper age limit is in the 60's or 70's. So, you can be a member of your state's militia without being a member of "The militia of the United States."

Regardless, the courts have rules that all competent, law-abiding adults can keep and bear arms regardless of militia (organized or unorganized) membership, with few exceptions. For example, in some states, women are excluded from the state militia. However, in no state is a woman prohibited from posessing a firearm based soley on her gender.

And if it’s kept concealed, who’s to know. They would only ask you to leave if they saw it. I knew a guy with a concealed carry, he either wore shirts or a jacket that kept it concealed.

Big city police departments that face a daily grind of shooting calls and murders develop a very cynical attitude about armed citizens

Perhaps that's true in big cities. Bro is LEO, he strongly believes in people being armed as long as they train routinely and are familiar with their weapon.

"In the eyes of a cynical street cop any citizen who shoots another citizen for any reason needs to be taken out, for the future safety of his fellow street cops."

Any law enforcement organization which feels that way does not deserve citizen support. None at all.

No one’s going to prosecute a person who just saved of the lives of many possible victims.

Actually folks that kill a shooter/burglar/criminal are prosecuted all the time.

Never underestimate the stupidity and arrogance of a city-state-federal prosecutor.

Yes, the bill has to do with TICKET scalping. Found that out after I posted.

Re: physical scalping

I should have been clear. The nations (Lenape, Shawnee, Cuyoga, Seneca, etc) on the east coast did not know of scalping, until the French traders arrived.

SCHLITZ?????... You drink SCHLITZ???

There was a time, back around 1971, when I was more-or-less commuting across the Pacific. Schlitz was the only beer that tasted the same wherever you were. Every other brand was wildly inconsistent, with the San Miguel brewed on Guam being notably awful.

Mind you, Schlitz wasn't especially good but it was always drinkable. It was only later that Schlitz discovered how much more important advertising was than quality and went on to achieve its ultimate fame.

The last one we know of for sure was on February 12, 2007. Salt Lake City. At a mall.

"Assault rifle large magazine. Lots of glass broken. People injured. 2 dead. police/guard Shot suspect-alive currently."

Thank God for appropriately applied gun control.

I interpret the age range of “17 to 45” as being the compulsory age to be ready to serve, not that people outside that range cannot serve.

The suspect is said to have used an AK-47, or possibly a rifle,

Maybe they are making Ak-45s in smother bore these days.

Kalashnikov is rolling in his grave.

Is this just another case of blacks shooting blacks? It appears to be in that part of town.
