I was "Promised Lifetime Medical Care" during my 22 years active duty. So, why are we paying the $3 and $9 ????
Lifetime care doesn’t mean free care. Are you really upset to pay those copays?
Damned if I know Brother. Seems I got that pledge also. Along with dental care, which of course went first. Then there was the PX, Commissary, etc. No post within 140 miles of me. They closed Fort McClellan here in Alabama, so I cannot use that any longer. Nope they make us pay that fee each year, the co-pays, and now want to triple the fee each year, so that comes next. Of course, those were PROMISES made by recruiters who had no right to pledge those to us. AND, of course, the military and Congress critters KNEW the recruiters were making those “promises” yet did NOTING to stop them. They ALLOWED the recruiters to continue to MISLEAD us for all those years. Then, when they wanted to screw us royal, it was easy to say recruiters had not right to make those promises. But, you are right, we were promised all that for our service. They used up the best years of my life, beat my body to a pulp, cut my retired pay by the amount of disability they give me for the injuries, so you actually wind up paying your own disability out of your retired check. They continue to cut, cut, cut, cut, and what can we do about it, NOTHING. What am I going to do now, get out of the Army? Way too late, years too late. If I had known all those years ago, that we were going to be screwed into the ground now, and all they told me I had for my service would end up like this, maybe I would have made different life decisions. Who the hell knows? The Congress, administration, Pentagon whores, none of them really care about the retired troops at all. Just one soldier’s opinion of Congress.
