“Here in America, Elks and Moose are fraternal organizations...”

How did that happen?

If this is true it would entirely confirm my notion of America as the ‘land where anything can happen’.

I went to the US once. Women were beatiful and in general people were very friendly.

But my next car will be a Volvo.

Investigate the Volvos before you buy a new one.

I have heard from two different mechanics, and from my boss who grew up in the car business, that Volvos have taken a decided turn for the worse since 2000.

We had a 1982 DL wagon that served us well when the kids were little, and my daughter right now has a '98 850 Turbo wagon which is a great car (except for that little problem with trying to get it to pass emissions after the battery was disconnected for some engine work - don't even get me STARTED on that. We put almost 900 miles on the car trying to get the computer to reset so the emissions computer could read the data -- we had 2 sets of mechanics praying over it and we ran the Volvo shop manual drive-in procedure (8 pages of closely printed text) 3 times before it finally reset. Never again.)
