Tenet is a Clintonoid suckup. The purpose of this book now is to deflect any questions about the Clinton failures from tainting HClinton's presidential run. Punk McAuliffe will tap the moneytree and buy up enough copies to put the book on some bestseller lists for awhile, just as he did for the previous clintonoid scribblings.

I imagine, that the military campaigns abroad, the political maneuvering to cut off funding, and isolate them all have had an effect. The destruction of the Taliban and the war in Iraq as well as our actions in the Philippines and elsewhere has perked the ears of those despot regimes that consider playing with terror on our soil. If Iran or Syria can be proven to be behind anything that happens in the US, their regimes will go away, and they know this. Anything they do, and surely they are, will be subtle and hard to trace.

That combined with a people in the US that after 911 was “Islamophobic” (According to the MSM) and kept a watchful eye on things (The average Joe has a more profound affect than any intel agency), law enforcement, FBI, CIA, and NSA all combined probably have made the organized terrorist groups life a little difficult. The total nut job who comes out of the blue is difficult to stop (Kennedy or Reagan shooter for example), but the terror cell has command and control, lines of communication, trains people and has to recruit them, needs money and is fed intel..... For a terrorist organization life today is probably a tad bit more difficult than what it was seven years ago.

One also can’t understate the efforts of our allies out there. They too clamped down their laws, search better, monitor Mosques, changed their deportation laws as Germany and France have. They look a little closer at how money is moving as well. While to some degree they wish away the GWOT they sure tightened their laws and do things differently today. Much of the trash that wants to terrorize us comes through these nations and them clamping down in a way makes it more difficult since they act like a big filter.

We also let loose the reigns internationally. No longer do you hear the US make negative comments when the Russians hunt down Chechens. And what goes on in that Egyptian prison is also never commented on in our political area. We have empowered many or don’t obstruct others as they go after these groups and people who they see as threats themselves often. When Israel kidnaps an Iranian scientist recently our political apparatus stays quiet. Strange how that works, huh?

On the other hand, as Rice said correctly, they only have to get it right once while we have to get it right all the time. Bush on more than one occasion has made mention of foiled attacks on us, but I imagine at some point something will come through. Nothing is impervious and the enemy also learns from his mistakes and adapts to overcome our measures. However, prior to 911 we were attacked every 16-18 months and since then we have had basically zero successful attacks on US soil. We are doing something right! Although success in this case means nothing happens, and nothing is no newsworthy story.

All in all, I imagine the terrorist group like AQ is having a hard time.

We assume that Mr. Tenet is saying that Al Qaeda is in America, but not so readily observable or identifiable.

And since we are not really at war while we are told we are at war, and war doesn’t have the same meaning as it had in 1941 — THE ENEMY IS RELATIVELY SAFE TO BUILD UP ITS BASE AND OPERATE ON OUR SOIL!

At least three quarters of our current Congress will not believe that American soil is under threat until Al Qaeda operatives begin to jimmy the locks on their own front doors while yelling, “We’re from Al Qaeda and we’ve come to kill you infidel members of Congress!”

No, they won’t get it even then!

OR(!) There is a deliberate scheme in Congress and Washington to allow Al Qaeda and others to just be a part of the larger picture of dismantling the United States (her sovereignty, her borders, her language, her freedom, her economy, her ability to defend herself, etc.) — And there IS such a scheme!

No, there will be NO deportations!

Illegal aliens, from any nation may enter across any border or through any airport, with impunity, and this is being demonstrated to us. The plan is to keep on allowing this until there is absolutely nothing we can do about it anymore and we (the citizenry) just give up.

I had an experience in the Army 30 years ago.I had gotten into a fight with five men from different parts of the world.Canada,Ireland,America,Germany and one other country I do not recall.I was happy to share a table with them as they all spoke English.But,as the night wore on,they became very drunk and abusive to the girls who were working.The were very scared of them and I was getting ticked,so the ladies asked me to ask them to leave which I did.As we got to the foyer which was not very large and with the doors closed,a very confining space.That is when things got interesting.A fight broke out and it was hot and heavy and one of them pulled a knife.When the realization set in that they were at a disadvantage,they split in a hurry.I went back in and the ladies were thanking me and doctoring me up.I had broken a front tooth,and scratched the cornea in my eye.The cut from the knife and the tooth hurt,but not as bad as the eye scratch.The next day,I had to report to the commander to explain my physical ailments.He was a jerk from hell.Threatened me with all kind of crap from destroying govt.property and so on.That night,I was awoken by two men who worked for the CIA.Now I’m thinking,I am screwed.Come to find out,the men I had been in the fight with were IRA men which made sense as to why they were from all the different countries,yet spoke good English.I was in Germany,by the way.The men that woke me up,wanted me to continue to frequent that same bar for two weeks.I explained to them that my commander was an asshole and I would be brought up on any charge he could nail me on.I also had a very high security rating at the time which was beneficial to whatever their intent was.Their words to me were,don’t worry about him,we will take care of that.And,under no conditions was I to speak to anyone concerning this matter.Especially the Capt.To me,this was an almost impossible request to fulfill.So,for two weeks during the day I was at the S-2[intelligence]poring over mugshots of unlimited numbers of people,and at night,I changed into street clothes to frequent the same bar.More or less bait as I look back on it now.But for two weeks,the commander was infuriated because after formation,a car picked me up and took me to look at more pictures.After three days,it definately got old.Hell from the Commander as he was put out of the loop,etc.It was driving him crazy.The only upside was I never had to buy a beer as long as I sat in that bar as the girls were very grateful for sticking up for them.Then,one day,the suits quit coming by,which was fine for me as two weeks of that,I had had enough.But the suits never took care of me.I went down to the office where I had spent two weeks,only to find it gone!!Then I had an OH OH moment.Of course I had signed the form where if I said anything about the incident,I was going to be,leave it to your imagination,DONE Man,what a mess I was in.No the suits never took care of me by providing me with alibi’s and such.Fortunately,the commander got drunk in a German bar and was relieved of his command[overnight I may add],but that is what saved me from Lord knows what.Do I,Would I,ever trust anyone in the CID,BCI,NCIS,NSA or any of our so called “Intelligence”units again.They hung me out to dry without so much as a warning.Do I think ANY of our soldiers will get a fair trial?? Not on your life.Sorry it is so long,but I felt the whole thing needed to be said to get the point across.

Folks in such orgs have been addicted to situation ethics for a long time. Expediency may be their only value.
