Linux beats Microsoft for most streamlined applications it seems.

Gates has been locking down 80% market shares with third rate software and fascist marketing long enough. Ubuntu is a workable solution to that problem for people who are ready to move on.

Does anyone have experience with Parallels Workstation? It's supposed to allow easy creation of Virtual Machines within a system and can be used (with OS software, of course) to run multiple OS's on one system.
I'm considering setting up a Linux box and running Parallels to open a WinXP Virtual Machine to run some applications. I figure I'll have fewer crashes, more security, and the ability to run a wide variety of SW. But I don't know anyone who's tried to do this.
It seems like it would be more convenient (and more flexible) than a dual-boot setup.

Reminds me of a cartoon I once saw. Two dapper Yuppie dads are sitting in the Little League bleachers, with a disheveled, unshaven bum between them. The first Yup says, "My son has an IQ of 160!" The second Yup replies, "My son has an IQ of 180!" The bum looks at both of them and says, "My son has a batting average of .450!" At which the two Yup dads hang their heads and mope.

I hope Ubuntu blows MS away. The Indians need to hire more people as tech support.
BTW, any of you Linux rednecks ever run Railroad Tycoon? Picked up a boxed copy off ebay for a buck. Now I just have to figure out what distro to install in a VM to play it.

For years many have predicted the death of Windows at the hands of Linux. LOL no kidding. And still delusional as Apple and Microsoft keep announcing record profits every quarter, both again in the last few days.
