She was quite affected by Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth," saying she was completely amazed at all the research, and was shocked by the pictures of how many places would be under water if sea levels rise 180 to 210 feet.

Ahh yes, our public education dollars hard at work I see...

Now once they’re trained to rat out their parents, the parallel to another social movement will be complete.

Why can’t the Girl Scouts be more like the Boy Scouts?

I guess her parents won’t have to worry about her borrowing the car now.

Just ask them the difference between carbon M and carbon D. They mess it up every time.

She can't help it if she thought she was being dazzled by brilliance, when in truth, she was baffled by bullsh*t.

I was a Girl Scout leader until our daughter graduated high school last year. I'm still on our local leader's Yahoo group, and a month or so ago, one of the other leaders posted something about presenting programs to the girls that showed the dangers of global warming and how we need to educate people on how to change their lives so we can 'make a difference' in the climate. I replied to the group saying that Algore was full of hot air, and maybe they needed to present the other side of the story that the girls are NOT getting, mainly that, though it may be getting warmer, we humans have nothing to do with it.

Only one other leader commented on the post, and that was the other woman who is also a Southern gal like me! She's originally from Tennessee, and offered that the issue was bogus and that Algore is an 'empty suit'. Heh.

Is there a better alternative to the Girl Scouts?

My daughter wants to join but notice the GS has an agenda that is a little too PC for my taste.
