OAKLAND -- Oakland city officials today announced two new resolutions condemning recent federal immigration raids and formalizing the city's intention not to cooperate with the U.S. government effort to deport undocumented residents.
The resolutions, one by Mayor Ron Dellums and the other by Council President Ignacio De La Fuente, both condemn the recent raids, which included one on Friday at an East Oakland manufacturer.
Both resolutions are also an effort to update Oakland's 1986 "City of Refuge" ordinance which only applies to refugees fleeing political violence in Haiti, El Salvador, Nicaragua and South Africa, De La Fuente said. His proposed ordinance would give refuge to any undocumented immigrant regardless of national origin.

Oakland??
Screw them!
Commie twits!!
The Oakland city government ordered the police to stop DUI roadblocks because too many illegal aliens where being caught and arrested driving with no license or proof of citizenship.
Can we transfer Oakland to Fallujah?
We need to put the word out that Oakland is a haven for “Los Illegales.” That way when it comes time for I.C.E. to come in, they will have 1 or 2 stops to round them all up. Personally I think Oakland is a perfect place to host all these illegal aliens. Better than Hometown, USA. I would absolutely love it if all the illegals and thier sympathizers moved out of my city and moved to Oakland or somewhere else on the left coast.
Ping!
Why am I reminded of a certain New York mayor...?

Local liberal insanity......the ACLU is preparing the defense on insanity grounds as we speak.

That and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee.
How badly do we really need California? How soon can we get that fault line to crack?
Sorry for singling you out but, every time we have one of these "sanctuary city" stories someone makes comments similar to yours, and it forces an image in my mind of GW sitting in the WH manically LHAO at you. Again, sorry. Blackbird.
We don't need them here in L.A. (illegal alien heaven), we already have several million of them here, and they're breaking our state.
Our schools are overcrowded and out of control, our hospital emergency rooms have become doctor's offices for illegals (free care), our welfare system is loaded with fraud, we're getting diseases that we never heard of, and some of the towns now look like Tijuana north.
As thousands more stream over the border every day, they're all waiting for amnesty from our first Mexican president, GWB and his open borders cronies from "both" parties.
Here is Debra Saunders latest article in todays SF Chronicle. She is their token conservative columnist. This covers the subject of these raids very nicely.
