Please pray on this day, and every day, for our Patriot Armed Forces standing in harm's way around the world in defense of our liberty, and for the families awaiting their safe return.
Go look for post 1112.
Obviously, the admin that pulled it is an HMS fan.
This place is getting bad.........
Mods on the loose.....
Yes, I know where the door is. The Admin nod's don't.....
I had it pulled.
Crow’s quote is on my profile.
I made a simple statement of fact gathered from what I've seen and people I've talked to. At the first of the race at TMS this year I sat next to a guy that was quite proud of the fact that he threw beer cans on the track at Dega last year. Since he was going to this one also, odds are...
ANY defense of that type of antics is ludicrous.
“Did you hear the guy call RUSH several days ago to explain to him how to use a single sheet of TP per flush as S. Crow asked? “
I know, the guy either had Rush going or he is the best straight man in the world.
The Nascar site has some pictures as well as the beginning of one write-up, "TALLADEGA, Ala. -- As beer cans bounced around his car, Jeff Gordon crossed the finish line Sunday for win No. 77 --
espn is also leading with it in some stories. this is very bad for the sport.
I saw it happen one time at a Tennessee football game.
I've seen fistfights, at the local shorttrack, over what was 'said' to another driver. Far less than launching something over the fence.
Fistfights are one way to go. But, these brainstems need to be arrested and upon conviction be awarded a lifetime ban.
Could be like a other major sports and ban B.Y.O.beer.
That’s fine, after the fact of course. ;)
oh my. oh my. sheesh.
Two-time series champion Tony Stewart made the same gesture toward Jimmie Johnson during a March race in Atlanta this season and was not penalized. That also was captured on live T-V, but NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said he was unaware of Stewart’s gesture when asked about it this week.
But Stewart’s gesture was so obvious that Johnson saw it from his rearview mirror and complimented Stewart the next week for being able to wave a finger while also preventing his car from crashing.
Stewart also made the same gesture at Carl Edwards last year at Pocono and was not penalized.
I am really disappointed that you of all people ST would also choose to paint all #8 fans this way. Were you and some of the others posting here actually at Talladega yesterday? You spoke to one person at TMS and talked to a few others and come to the conclusion that it's all #8 fans???
It is quite possible that the MAJORITY were #8 fans because 80% of the people out there are his fans!!..........so the ODDS could be correct. However, I have yet to see any picture, anywhere that shows last night to be equal to the amount of missiles thrown last year. You can't stop these few idiots that do that! Think about it 168,000+ people, how many cans??? 20...25??
Actually, if some of you will do your homework, the fans were upset because of the caution finish and had nothing to do with Jr not winning because he really didn't have a chance unless he pulled one of his miracle runs. The problem I've seen and heard on the TV and the various driver Internet sites is that they thought a red should have been thrown. Oh gosh maybe they were JJ fans, because he actually could have had a chance to win if Nascar had thrown the red, but we will never know.
The majority of the #8 fans are decent folks, not drunken maniacs who could be fans of nothing but the sport of going to a racetrack and drinking themselves stupid. To blame all 8 fans is disrespectful to us and to the driver we support.
Norm, if you could have someone do the Darlington thread I would appreciate it. I don't have anything else until Fontana in September, if I have calmed down by then I will be back.
It happens for one reason and one reason only, when Jeff Gordon beats Dale Earnhardt Jr. Feel free to post any evidence that shows otherwise. And no where did I say all Jr fans should be drawn and quartered.
Now I would like to apologize for disrupting the thread. I quit posting earlier because I tired of the continued conspiracy rants and did my best to keep my mouth shut after the race. I had had enough when another poster was tagged for spelling errors as a rebuttal.
Feel free to carry on, I really doubt one, out of the measly 20%, will be missed.
Vaya con Dios.
Why does NASCAR let people take coolers into the stands anyhow? Banning BYOBeer would put an end to most of the projectiles.
I still would love to know why Fox did not show the mayhem. It leads to the false conclusion that only a handful were tossing beer. If you look around you can see it was a lot more than that. But even one or two would be acceptable and clearly it is the JR fans, at least this time, are doing it.
