Former senator, commentator and actor Fred Thompson will provide regular opinion and analysis on ABCRadio.com. The network says the “Fred Thompson Report” will discuss issues and events that affect all Americans. Audio versions of many of the commentaries will also be made available on ABCRadio.com.
“The Internet allows – as never before – a real dialogue among the American people. There has never been a more important time in recent history to be informed as a nation, and my hope is that my daily commentary will contribute to that discussion,” said Thompson. “I’m looking forward to using the medium to its fullest.”
“There is a clear demand to hear from Senator Thompson. It’s obvious that listeners, if not America, seek his leadership on issues that matter. Radio has already provided an excellent platform to inform and educate listeners seeking his opinion—the ‘Fred Thompson Report’ is another extension to deliver his respected opinion,” said John McConnell, SVP/Programming, ABC Radio Networks.
Thompson, a former Republican Senator from Tennessee is well known for his current television role on NBC’s “Law & Order.” For the past year, Thompson has been working with ABC News Radio as a Special Program Host and Senior Analyst, hosting special reports and doing vacation fill-in for Paul Harvey.
I wish it was only bad feelings. Many, many long time, well known and respected Freepers have either booted or publicly announced their departure (32 known so far by one count). It's a FR bloodbath, complete with several posters pulling out the long knives by drawing some into the fray so they can be finished off. Areafiftyone has not yet posted over there so she is still with us, for now.
A51 should leave Fred Thompson`s possible candidacy to the those FReepers who actually see him a solid potential choice for conservatives to consider. She should stick to promoting her liberal choice, Rudy Giuliani.
How's this for conventional wisdom... whatever Dick Morris says or predicts... you can bank on exactly the opposite occurring.
Since I agree with your tagline this news just makes me nervous. Your hypotheticals could be correct but it is a very risky strategy. Too much of the Hail Mary fourth qtr td attempt for victory for me.

I heard L&O may not stay on the air anyway. Since they moved it to Fridays the ratings have plummeted. So I don’t think Fred has any problems with that because the show will probably be canceled anyway. Reruns with his character in them are forbidden if he runs but hey I don’t think you get that much for reruns anyway. If if this contract is signed I bet you he gets good money for this.

Maybe not. It just might be telling us something about the guy. For instance... does anyone here know when the old-fashioned, traditional announcement time used to be? I mean... before this announce-two-years-in-advance thing started? Maybe Thompson is just a traditional kind of guy, and isn't sweating his chances, unlike all of us paranoids here...:-)

There has been no censorship of threads about Rudy. If not acceptable they would not have been put up.

I love his slow southern draw on “The Paul Harvey Show.” It’s much more believable than Hilary’s. This forum is FREE advertising for him, so in addition to being unconventional it’s also smart.
IMHO, your attitude towards someone who has clearly shown an interest in Fred Thompson is not at all helpful to those of us who want to encourage others to support him. Your comments are a perfect example of how NOT to recruit others and encourage them to support the candidate of your choice.
